Well how long did it take to get to this point as the youngest team ? Just because we are kinda exciting to watch now doesn't wash away 15yrs of Sh!t buildup.
- Buff36

Once we traded away Eichel we became a “new team”. What happened before that does not matter.

Now people are b*tching about meatballs. Best coach we have had since ruff. Does he have deficiencies. Yes. But look what he has done with all these young players. He will also get better with time just like the team.

Whats great is even the Toronto fan that was here yesterday and responded to a post about we need to trade for Chickenman or Meier is realistic.

His response: Too soon

- ZiggyBuff

I think next year and the year after that is also too soon and if I’m Being honest the next 5-7 years are also probably too soon.

Too many prospects that we have to develop if we want to build a true cup contender and we don’t want to block any of them.

They have 3 picks this coming draft that will need a good 3-4 years of development.

Tyrod Taylor was once the best QB the Bills have had since Jim Kelly……

Not trying to be a smart ass or defend Adams however, this what they call the learning process. It sucks but what can we do? We don't want to be a cap team that's a a bad team. I'd rather not be a cap team and we can't trade just to trade.

I am not worried about Granato, he's playing who he's given and trying to mash some stuff together. Yes a new team somewhat. But a lot of this team was still here for alot of losing to. It is nice to see the growth but you also have to help them Win. Losing breads losing and the Sabres have done to much of that, even with this supposed New Team

If you have 3 goalies. You have no goalies.

Find a starter.

I don’t care who the back up is of the 3.

Levi can’t be expected to make an impact for 2-3 seasons. Goalies just don’t do step into the nhl. It is not the norm.

Top 4 d man helps re slot the d. But no bidding wars.

Get a goalie.

Lol at “we have better cap”

Congrats for having a better cap, the Leafs came in and just curb stomped you.

Having great cap savings means nothing if you don’t do anything with it.

- ImThatGuy

I compare this season to the Bills season where we squeaked into the playoffs with Car part as our QB. We were not suppose to make it. Same with the Sabres. We are right where we are suppose to be, just on the outside looking in... I am as frustrated as any other long time Sabres fan, I want to make the playoffs badly. There is nothing like playoff hockey it compares to NOTHING in any other sport. I truly believe the Stanley cup is the hardest championship to win in ALL of sports and for 2 months your team has to battle every other night and the emotional roller coaster you are on as a fan is freaking awesome...

We have waited this long, Lets see what happens with GMKA plan. I truly believe in what GMKA is doing here. This is the most excited I have been to watch hockey in like 10 years. We are in all most every game, we have a young exciting team that can score with anyone and we are fighting for a playoff spot and its damn near March. Have not been in this position for a very long time.

Trust the process. don't blow poop up just for the sake of it. if you can get a goalie with term left via trade do it, if you can get a player that fits into your plan do it. but don't just spend to the cap because you can (see Leino signing)

This blog goes back to good Sabre teams. Everyone here has a right to B as much as they want.

Besides a happy good vibe culture, Adams and Granato have built in an excuse-maker's culture too. I cannot believe I just heard Meatballs bring up the 9 day break from the bye week and all star as an excuse for their play in last night's game during his post game presser. Wow.

Did they all come back from the Bahamas with VD?

Its like management doesnt know if he made a trade it would get butts in the seats. They need something to get more butts in seats. Showing some want for the playoffs would be nice

Depending on how the next week goes, the Sabres may not be playing meaningful games in March.

That’s very true. Although I can understand the frustration among the fans who don’t want to hear that poop.
Back in October, most probably would have taken where the Sabres sit right now, but now they see the promising development and can almost taste the success, and they want to speed it up.

Last game before break
First game after break
First game of west coast trip
First game back from west coast trip

Blah blah blah. Every excuse is built in for getting their doors blown off in those games.

Trading for a defenseman isn't really speeding it up imo - it's something they're going to have to do, so why not do it now?

Same thing with the goalie situation. Is it feasible to sit here for 2-3 years and wait for Levi or hope UPL improves?

How would trading for a high impact forward who would be part of the team long term be considered speeding it up?

It’s not. It’s a built in excuse.

trading for Meier who fits the timeline and age speeding it up.

Signing Kane as a UFA - not speeding it up.

Not quite sure I understand the logic.

And if Kevyn got them a bit of help it might even help them in that race.

Well, trading for such a player who would help them win more right now would be speeding it up. I didn’t mean they want to sell the farm and gut the future to go for it this year. I just meant they see how good this team could be, and want to get there quickly.

Everyone knows that's not Reasonable, but again what goalie is out there that has good numbers and 2 years or so term left? I really see one, Carter Hart and that is going to cost you but I still think you can get him out of Philly.. maybe it cost you a first and a prospect and roster palyer but I would do it.

Then you have a young starting NHL goalie for 2 years then you can transition Levi to the starters role and trade Hart at the end of 24-25 season hopefully for that 1st rounder that you used on him..
