Did I say that, I actually think the game could have been worse if he didn't make some of the saves he did. Sure I would take that 4th goal back. But the first 10 minutes was like a shooting gallery - Buff36
His puck tracking/lateral movement (or lack thereof) is what will keep him from being a real starter in this league

Guess they should have played hockey the first 20 minutes - Buff36
UPL let in 2 soft ones out of the 4 and most agree they should have been stopped. It seems everyone settled down when Anderson went in. My bet is if Anderson started Sabres would have had a better start and would have won.
My point from all this is KA better bring in a number one soon. Andy's too old and UPL lets in softies on a consistent basis. |

I literally just watched 41 YO Craig Anderson make 4 massive saves that lead to goals for the Sabres.
It should be a big ask for your young up and coming**** goalie to not be outplayed by a 41 year old. |

UPL has a consistent sub .900 sv % game in and game out yet it’s never his fault.
That first goal he was driving into the corner following the puck carrier.
That fourth goal just yikes.

Would think the no-show start is a bigger story than UPL.

Go look at strokes post. UPL does this constantly.
For a big man he makes himself as small as possible. Marty Biron has commented on this several times. |

WTF is that? He made him self as small as possible.
Should have probably just laid down. Would have taken up more of the net. - ImThatGuy
Way too much room to give up when it's one on one
The first goal he is on his knees with Marner having the puck basically at the goal line..
Not sure what he was thinking there.

Well very much could. But he's young and bigger goalie's have a tendency when they have to move side to side as much as UPL seems to do with the traffic in front. Mechanics can get messed up, his legs seem to get messed up alot, makes him drop his glove hand. |

To be fair... he's a rookie, and this team leaves goalies on an island pretty regularly. I still think his ceiling is career back-up, but it's genuinely hard to say with this team in front of him.

When UPL is terrible it's the Ds fault
When Comrie it's terrible it's his fault
When Anderson is terrible he needs to retire |

He wasn't even supposed to be here, if that 41yr old goalie could play more than 1 game every 2 weeks UPL probably isn't here. Yes you would hope he steps up and makes a save. But Jesus God forbid you help the kid out a bit. It's a weakness and the Sabres have known it and have done Nothing about it. |

He shouldn’t even be in the NHL right now.
the Sabres GM has just done a piss poor job at at managing the position. |

Actually it's the team around the goalie's, yes the goalie's could be better. But the whole Team around them could be much better. |

Looked like he lost his skate blade at some point on that one. Not sure when or how much it mattered.

Agree he shouldn’t be here.
Still doesn’t excuse his poor play.
It’s absolutely a weakness in Falls at the feet of the GM

I was told hits, taking the body do not matter and doesn't win you games. |
