Sanheim has had his head up his ass for about a month or so. He has not had a strong season. He needs to elevate his game. I guess a message is being sent but does that really work? |

Second time this season John Tortorella has scratched a player in his "home arena" with family in attendence: Sanheim is a healthy scratch today in Calgary, where he played his junior hockey and his family has come to attend the game. Happed to Frost in Toronto in early November.
Starting lineup:
13 Kevin Hayes - 21 Scott Laughton - 74 Owen Tippett
25 James van Riemsdyk - 48 Morgan Frost - 11 Travis Konecny
44 Nicolas Deslauriers - 49 Noah Cates - 38 Patrick Brown
62 Olle Lycksell - 86 Joel Farabee - 57 Wade Allison
9 Ivan Provorov - 61 Justin Braun
45 Cam York - 55 Rasmus Ristolainen
24 Nick Seeler - 77 Tony DeAngelo
33 Samuel Ersson
- bmeltzer[79 Carter Hart]
Ristolainen was ➖️ 3 so he should sit instead of ➖️ 1 Sanheim. Logically. So it looks like Tortorella wants to humilate Sanheim in front of his family. |

Is the Farabee center experiment back on? So now two LWs playing out of position. |

|
And what does this accomplish other than the player disliking the coach? - PLindbergh31
Badcock will never coach again, because of his misguided psychology experiment he did on Mitch Marner |

By Sanheim being scratched, does this hurt his chances at winning the Barry Ashbee award this year? |

Probably depends on the player. Pretty clear “you have sucked” from the coach. |

Torts is a douche. - BiggE
Countless examples like this one throughout his coaching history too. I'll never understand why they chose to hire him to develop the younger players on this team. |

Risto was on the ice as a forward for two empty netters. |

Sanheim has struggled of late…but these home games are a chance for a player to really get excited and perhaps get some confidence by having a great game. It really can be a catalyst to get a guy going…not liking it.

No they shouldn’t. I hope the “Torts should win the Jack Adams” debate is dead. |

Risto has also played a stronger game then Sanheim the last 6 weeks. I agree Sanheim needs to be better. This is all about a message being sent. |

Farabee hasn't scored a goal since January 9. 16 games ago. Thats no goals for 20% of the season.

No question. Torts has called Sanheim out in at least one presser in recent memory, so this should come to no surprise.
I just don’t wanna hear anymore nonsense that Sanheim is better than Provorov in anyway. |

Many fans likes his persona. And a great sideshow to get the attention away from a bad team. |

It would be nice if both played to their abilities and the discussion centred around what attributes each brought. |
