They just simply aren’t a very good roster all things considered.

No way we're trading away a top ten pick.

This year's Pens can't play D. Way to many goals, shots and chances given up each game.

This game is like the opposite of entertaining. I don’t think I remember a game where it was so obvious it was a back to back. Uninterested, slow, & beat in almost every way.

Whose ever idea it was to revamp the defense from last year should be fired. Whether that was Sullivan, Hextall, or someone else. The defense is noticeably worse this year compared to last year. The only new player that played better than their counterpart last year is POJ. You spent more money to be worse.

The top 6 is fine. That's credit to Hextall for signing guys at good prices. The bottom 6, defense, and goaltending are big problems this year. Management deserves all the blame for not addressing them better.

Could have predicted that. It's our MO recently, score, grab momentum, and give it back as soon as humanly possible.

Every time we score we put the carter line out. Is sully that bad or is he trying to make a point? If kapanen watched the other team score a goal and just stand there, then take 2 penalties, he’d be benched rest of the game and then scratched. Carter does it and doesn’t even miss a shift. It’s absolutely pathetic.

Dustin Brown and Chris Neil having their jerseys retired downplays the value in having your jersey retired.

The worst part is that half those moves were for commodities already known to suck...Carcass, Kap, CDSh!t. It'd be a tiny bit more acceptable if it was entirely new guys killing us.

And why couldn't we have faced Quick the other night? Might have mounted some kind of comeback. LA was up 5-1 not 16 minutes in against Arizona and it's now 5-5. Quick sh!tting the bed, the walls, the windows lol

Nah. One player has nothing to do with another. Those players peers understand.

Yeah but he (frank)ed people up. And went about it in the best possible way. Big fan of his. He definitely deserves the honor. Great to see the game take a step in the right direction.

I think all of us agreed in this Forum that the only change to be made was getting rid of Dumo this off-season. That was the only change we needed because we could all tell he wasn't the same player following injuries. Yet instead Hex trades around until we become older on D.

I get it he wanted someone bigger and that could clear people at net front. He should have waited until this deadline to make such a move! Instead he signed Rutta and traded for Petry.

Brownie at least captained the Kings to a few cups while potting 50-60 points with regularity. Neil didn’t do poop. Cracked 30 points once lol.

Hex clearly constructed a poor roster. The top two lines are fine. The bottom six is just (frank)ing aweful. He screwed around with the D when Dumo needed to go. Tne Pens are worse defensively than they were last season and the bottom 6 is a dumpster fire. The Carter extension, the Kap resigning, the Petry trade, and the Ruutta signing are all self inflicted, unecessary wounds. I know when healthy Ruutta has been fine, but his signing was not needed unless Dumo was moved out. Hex is a poopty GM

I want to know how he survived the ownership change. He had a plan that he couldn’t explain or put on paper and they decided “yeah let’s keep this guy around.”

I wondered this as well. Especially because you figure they would want a GM with good experience and who is a bit more in the now. Hex has spent a bunch of the year with scouts overseas looking at future prospects from multiple reports. Who cares about the future when this team is currently a disaster. We needed moves to be made to our bottom six since our first losing streak in the beginning of the season and it was evident then and it's more evident now.

We need an aggressive GM. The last 2 years should have been trading picks for talent to solidify this team. Don't get me wrong some of his trades have been solid. Rakell was by far one of the better pick ups. I still can't figure out spending 6 million on Kap and Carter. Having 6 million for the 3rd line for 2 spots to would net us way better than what we currently have especially last off-season.

Yeah this was obvious in July. But a lot of fanboys were still giddy over the trio coming back.

If you looked up his resume in Philly it was clear the pens would be missing JR.
