Yes but that was more in the warm body stage of the rebuild than the competent depth stage

I remember you pooping on the possibility of Maata coming to the Wings when he was still with the Kings, saying that he was too slow and worn out. You seem to have warmed to him since.

You probably have the wrong guy. He has always been a high IQ player. Injuries and lack of athleticism robbed him of a more lucrative career.

No, and to be fair Maata was not as good with the Kings.

What UFAs are you really expecting to look at? Assuming Larkin and Wallman are the only two pending UFAs kept around, then you are filling 1 spot on D and 3 on offense. We have the prospects ready to fill those gaps. I am expecting a very boring offseason unless Larkin isn't resigned.

That's the point I was getting at (although I may have gone about a tad backwards!!!); if we get the WC slot & are slaughtered in the 1st round, a potent UFA who may have been considering the Wings would see that and reconsider because the perception may be that we're still such a long way from actually contending.

Did that make a bit more sense? Struggling to word that correctly....my apologies.

Honestly, I think it'll be boring as well. I just don't think a huge splash will be made because many of the tools we need to be serious contenders are either on the team or growing in the bus leagues.

Definitely wasn't against the Maatta signing. The Chiarot one I didn't care for.

Thoughts on Vrana getting recalled?

Showcasing for a possible trade. If Steve can find someone to take out his garbage, more power to him.
