So we have all seen the proposed deal people are talking about for Karlsson. Sends Pulj, Barrie, a bunch of picks and we get Karlsson at roughly 4 mil and Bjustad
They say Edmonton came back to this because LA was getting Chychurn. Then Sportsnet says that LA talks have broken down.
There is a chance that Holland can do the Karlsson trade and still be able to do the Chychurn deal. They want a first or a player recently from the first. Broberg and Schaefer should fit their needs. Then send them Bouchard and get them to hold half the salary.
Giving us
Nurse. Karlsson
Chychrun Ceci
Kulak. Desharnais
With Kesselring and Wanner as the extras. Best of all most of this team is locked in for a while. This could be the start of a real dynasty. This would add the best blue line in the league to the best top 6 forwards in the league. Crazy what they could do. - Hall Fan
I missed your expert analysis on defence these past few years, as well as your EA sports quality trade ideas. Welcome back, Jabroni. |

Bob Stauffer, radio analyst for the Edmonton Oilers has said that the Oilers offer for Erik Karlsson would be their 2023 1st, defensemen Evan Bouchard, prospect Xavier Bourgault (as the 3 1sts) and two contracts, Tyson Barrie to balance out the numbers and another roster player.

No doubt. As good of a year as he is having, I don’t make that trade even if they do retain half the salary. Injury history, age, and his play in his own zone makes it a no go for me.
Heard Friedman say a couple of weeks ago the ask for Toews was a 2nd or 3rd only. I would much rather that route and land a defensive dman than someone else that’s gonna give up a lot of chances in front of our net. Maybe Olli Maatta, or Luke Schenn or both. Maybe even another forward like Max Domi, Nick Ritchie, or Nick Bjugstad
But the asks for Chychrun and Karlsson are both too high. |

Play in his own zone doesn't worry me at all. If his minutes are coming in lieu of Barrie/Bouchard, then it would not be any step back defensively. Injury history is the only issue for me, but if somehow they manage 50% salary retention, then I couldn't care less if he is only playing 60 games a year, as long as he is around for the playoffs. Would need to pick up more D depth too though, a Schenn type, as Vinny would be our #6 D man. Have to get rid of Poolparty too though. |

What if we live in some crazy world where we not only manage a trade for Karlsson, but pick up Toews as well |

I think he said something about heading to Winnipeg for some kind of rally. |
