I will be honest. Not one prospect in the Jets system excites me. Nor does a mid 20’s pick. We all know what Chevy’s drafting record outside the top 20 is right? Trade it all away and go All-In this year!
- TheUltimateJet

The two prospects that most excite me currently of the Jets prospects - Solomonsson (injured) and Rashevsky (signed in KHL for two more years).

Other than that I'm okay with trading any other prospect - just not all of them. I'd rather trade a current prospect (or 2 or 3) than a 1st rd'er in 2023. I would trade the 2024 1st as we can get that back I believe.

Needs: top 6 or 7 fwd, upgrade on the B-line (right side) and a rugged, experienced d-mam who can clear the front of the net in the playoffs.

Come on Chevy, for once do not take the season off and do something! The west is winnable and as such so is the Stanley Cup. I would love for Winnipeg to break the Canadian Stanley Cup drought.

Trade away whatever it takes and go ALL-IN...... This is this core's last chance to do anything before the Jets begin to think about a rebuild.

That is a crazy choice. So much for accountability. AJF's work ethic was contagious and so much helped the Jets get going. Monkey see - monkey do! Something happened with him on the ice on every shift.

The Jets delete their hardest working player - makes sense to me! And Kuhlman and Gagner remain with the team??

Maybe that's why I'm not in hockey management - but I do not see one iota of sense in this move! The Jets will be sorry, I believe!

See Buff's back skating!

Pay him $1 mill for final games and forget guys like Schenn, Edmundson, etc?

The Coach chose guys who can grind hard in the playoffs so the 4th line of Maenalanen-Stenlund-Kuhlman fit that role. The role for another finesse player like AJF just wasn't there now everyone is healthy. Once Gus is back it might be Stenlund getting bumped.

Fjallby is a finesse player?

He looks like a fast, grinding stonehands 4th liner to me.

The Jets bottom six players are replacement level junk, plug and play one for another and there's little if any difference on the ice, it's in dire need of a big overhaul.

Great Trade Centre with Craig Button. He says the Jets should go all-in.

I disagree with him on the type of player we should be pursuing though. We have 9 million in cap space and should want to make the biggest splash ever.

Meier and Karlsson......Get it done Chevy!

Well, see that AJF cleared, I can breathe easier now. He is the closest thing we've had to Brandon Tanev (another fav of mine) since, well, Brandon Tanev. I guess teams are keeping cap room open for possible trades.

Hopefully, as you suggest, Stenlund is NOT the next one. He's also been a great addition. Best face-off C on team in IMO, big body, hits, checks and plays PK minutes. 200-ft player! (and a good friend of PLD's) H-m-m-m?

I don't mind our bottom six, much better than in recent years, which is part of our success. Sure it would be nice if they could score more, but that's not their main job.

I highly doubt that prediction but will eat crow if it happens. I dont know how the best F/O centre gets bumped by the worst.

Not really a prediction. Stenlund has played very well on the PK the past few games so along with his F/O percentage it certainly merits a strong argument to keep in in the lineup . I believe that the whole 4th line needs to pass thru waivers though including Gus ? .....so someone may have to go. Maybe Gus or another one of them has some trade value as a throw-in if Chevy has just a little more time. I doubt any of these four players clears waivers.

If someone has to go - Gagner? Or where promises made when he signed?

Gagner, Gus or Kuhlman. Nice if a deal where made before this happens. Can they not get a medical assessment that says Gus is not quite ready yet?

I'm sure that there are a lot of Gm's who were cup contenders back in 2021 when TB played the cap loophole to perfection with Kucherov. Hurricanes lost 4-1 to TB and were not happy having to play a team that was $18 M over the cap.

I know he is a rookie, but I keep wanting to see more from Perfetti.

There is skill there, but something's missing.

Maybe some off-season work with Gary Roberts ?

Beefing up always helps, recall how Sheif was like a baby deer in ice before Gary Roberta got a hold of him?

But, he’s had some good jump since the break.

Honestly, if he was given the same
Ice time and power play time as wheeler he’d be outperforming wheeler. He can’t control how little bones plays him

Perfetti appears a lot faster to me than earlier in the season. You can't teach vision and intuition which he has in spades. He is also a sponge when it comes to learning the system and is becoming quite reliable for a rookie.

What Perfetti does seem to lack is the timing and location of his shots on the real NHL goalies he is now facing and also the ability to grind and cycle the puck better along the boards and in traffic. He is a rookie so those skills will come . I as a fan have complete faith that Perfetti will be a force to contend with in about two years time and will also show marked improvement each and every year.

Its a great idea, but it would require Chevy to pick up the phone and do something outside the box.

Burke would do it if he was running the Jets.

Out of the box thinking and Chevy do not belong in the same sentence. You would think that in a market like Winnipeg that thinking outside the box would be a requirement for the job. If Chevy does not hit a homerun before this year's trade deadline, he has got to go!

If the Playoff matchups were based on today it might look like this for the Jets:

First round : Colorado Avalanche
Second Round : Dallas Stars
Third Round : VGK
Final : Boston Bruins

I post this because every team in the hunt is going to improve in their areas of need . That part is all a near wash as teams give up tons of assets and only one team will look smart in the end. Chevy has always been the pike-in-the-weeds type of GM. This year he could go with several different routes to improving the team

1) Give up valuable costly assets to get a Timo Meier, a Ryan O'Reilly, Jacob Chychryn or possibly an Eric Karlsson.

2) Wait till other teams blow their wad and go after next-tier type guys like Jonathan Toews, Patrik Kane, Barbashev, Larkin, Monahan, etc. Lesser cost but possibly a smarter play considering the playoff opponents.

3) At a more unacceptable level but still legit is to get several guys like Perron, Nyquist, Okposo, Ghost, Shattenkirk, Klinberg, Hornqvist, Domi

Is one player for Category 1 a better option than 2 players from #2, or three players from #3 ?

Hard to say. What is real right now is that getting to the Stanley Cup finals will be no easy task but at some point you have to go for it and with regards to the Jet's history that time has been no better than now and back in 2017-18.
