I think these are the pieces Drury has available for rentals:
-Kravtsov
-Jones
-Robertson
-Gauthier
-most of the prospects
-all their high picks
I think they end up with Tarasenko for a very manageable return. Kane just has to many question marks, unfortunately for me - Slimtj100 No doubt that you have tons to offer up, but do you really want to cough some of that up for a pure rental when your team has many years of competitive window open? Can become a vicious cycle. Give a couple pieces for a Tarasenko and he doesn't gel, you have the same need next year with less trade chips.
And that should have been an automatic goal.

Well, we happen to be in a very fortunate situation. We have assets, we have needs and we have our future kinda all locked up.
We kind of have to play for the now because I feel we have a 3-4 year window with the vets we have. However at the same time, with the kids we have we want to establish a winning culture and maintain it when our vets are gone.
Our top 4 defense is pretty much set for the next near decade between Lindgren/Fox, Miller/Schneider
Out weakness in our system is definitely center and RW which I hope they address in the coming drafts which is why I dont want to trade it all away. |

Same place we were 15 years ago. I know how it feels to go the rental route too often and end up with 2 first round picks in a full decade and a barren prospect pool. I know we won a few Cups, but it turned out that those all came from the homegrown core that grew up together and weird extra pieces like Nick Bonino, Trevor Daly and Ron f'n Hainsey, not the Hossa's and Iginla's we gave everything away for.
