It'll come around soon. Building a truly competitive team isn't cheap. That cap space will be used up somehow eventually.
Edit: Looks like there will be some holes in their lineup next year and Aho is due a new contract the following year. It's gonna get tight real fast. |

The next time they have major contracts to sign are when Necas, Aho and Teravainen are up in 2025 |

Othman on record saying he has played RW a ton. - nyrangers2
I think the plan for him would be, because they really have to, try him on RW in training camp. If he doesn’t look comfortable move him back to LW. Start him in Hartford either way. But if starts in Hartford on RW he could adjust fairly easily with 40-50 games down there and then we bring him up and he’s a regular, on 3RW
It’ll be tough to not wanna see Othmann right away but I fell like they’ll probably do that simply because of the 4LWs pretty much locked in to those spots.
Or they could do something like what they did with the D last year. Where othmann and Cuylle alternate and play a week, watch a week something like that. They did that with Nils and Schneider last year if I recall. Although I feel like Cuylle is penciled in and set up on 4LW next year. Idk we just have to see that we have a LW abundance and something has to give at some point |

Yes, gut your team for 30 games of Timo Meire. Perfect. - JRR1285
He's an RFA and the Canes have $30 million in cap space this summer with like 3 guys to sign. |

Was gonna say, he played RW at the WJC and after his trade to Plymouth. He's made it know he's comfortable playing the RW. - tomburton99

Not when Meier takes up a third of it and you have holes to fill. |

Unless he's just ready to go play in the NHL. He'll be 21 at that point and 3 years out from his draft year. There's plenty of reason to believe that would be the case. It's not the same as Laf, Chytil, Kakko who got thrown into the fire at 18 |

$20m plus however much the cap goes up. Aho won't get too much more than he makes already, Teravainen maybe stays, maybe goes, Necas would probably get a similar bump to Aho (I'm gonna guess an extra $2-$3m). They'll be fine |

It looks like they have no goalies signed and a few guys going UFA. Predictions? Looks like a lot of change over. |

If Kreider could figure out his off wing he would be a nightmare. Speeding down the right side tee'd up to blast off the rush would add another dimension to his game. Although he wouldn't have that breakaway backhander anymore |

It’s not like me to look into next year but when you do, if Othmanm can indeed play RW that would alleviate a ton of questions/issues |

Not when Meier takes up a third of it and you have holes to fill. - JRR1285
What holes?
Paul Stastny, Jesper Fast, Derek Stepan, Jordan Staal up front.
You can re-up Staal for about $4 million. Fast for $2.5-3 if you really want. The others are bit pieces you can get for a million bucks wherever.
on D it's two bottom pair guys in de Haan and Coghlan, so you can replace them for dirt cheap elsewhere too.
Then you need a goalie. Kochetkov is already signed long term, so grab a vet guy for a year or two to platoon with him. That's $4 million tops.
Meier (at 10 million, but you can probably sign him long term at 9) + Staal + Fast + Goalie + four depth signings = $26 million on the high end. |

There's no where else to play him. They shouldn't break up the third line (unless you move Goodrow to the fourth and Vesey to the third) and he ain't going on the fourth. The third line is great as a checking line with offense and Vesey fits that bill, Krav does not |
