The players will likely take some time to decide what they want to do and Hawks management will get back to any teams they get a go-ahead from the players.

Seems like a much better set up, it would be done earlier and benefit the teams by allowing the new players more time before the playoffs to get acclimated to their new team. They'd have the time off already so they could relocate too.

Well, the all star break just coincides with some teams bye week so that's why games are rather absent.

Also, I think Bettman likes the later TDL because it allows more teams to "be in the mix" for playoffs longer. If teams became sellers now, people would begin not going to games for say Philly or other bubble teams.

Would rather have Larkin than Toews. Larkin would add much needed speed to the lineup and he's no FOW slouch.
