I honestly think a trade will reinvigorate him. I just think he has more to give then he has this year on a bad Hawks team. - Archaic
Kane seems to be genuinely injured, since he can't skate and just had another almost 100 point season last year.
Toews seems to be able to move his hips again so he's back to being the most overrated two-way 50 point forward he was for 70% of his career. |

Seattle adding a LHD (Megna) is interesting
Could mean Soucy is in play
Also……Jeannot would be a good buy low option - mr.sir
TIL: Max Domi is at the top of most stats categories for Chicago this year. - Atomic Wedgie
3 guys sprinkled in the line up of that ilk would make my balls huge, imagine how puffed up our softies would get!?!?!?! |

on pace for 30, 22, 27, 29 goals last 4 years....on one of the worst offensive teams in the league. His underlying stats says he drives offence and carries a line defensively.
Please tell me how that is a 3rd liner. - Santo_44
"On pace for" He either did, or did not. He has never hit over 51 points in his career. He is on a bad team getting big minutes on their first line.
You think he is a top line player on a contending team? |

Yeah shortened seasons, had an injury. It is valid, all while being on a team that sucks scoring.
He drives offence, so he can absolutely play on a contending teams top 6.
Go look at his numbers, its because he has a boring last name and plays on the ducks. |

Why is his last name boring?
If someone has the potential to do something, but never does, then that potential doesnt really mean anything. Injuries should also be a concern then right?
I will say I think he is still decent defensively, so he wouldnt be a liability.

Toews is a good player, just vastly overpaid.
I wonder if Kane can recover this year from his injuries. |

Why who is taking so long to make a decision. Hawks have been soliciting interest from other teams. They have lists for Kane and Toews. They presented those lists to the players today. The players will likely take some time to decide what they want to do and Hawks management will get back to any teams they get a go-ahead from the players.
Seems fairly straightforward |

with the playoffs, it hard to know who will have an impact... wouldnt have thought nick Paul would be a huge factor in deciding a series..but he did - senstroll
Henrique has made the playoffs twice
2011-12 - 24GP - 13 points
2017-18 - 4GPM 0 points
Who knows lol

Its not like he has had a crazy amount of injuries, he is obviously healthy this year.
What tells you he is just decent defensively? The stats say he is very good, if you have found some that say otherwise then please show me. |

Getting more good players is hard to hate. - AdamFrench
Simple as this.
I hear, “Don’t need a top 6 forward”.
But what if you can get a guy better than one of your current top 6 guys?
“Need a bottom 6 guy instead.”
Oh look…a better bottom 6 guy just fell from the heavens when they picked up a better top 6 guy.
If they can improve at any position, why wouldn’t they?
At this point worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Try to push the limits here.
1967 and counting is the current standard.
Win a cup, then they can set a new goal of winning again in 40 years. That’s progress.

Does anyone else think the Allstar break would be a great week for TDL Week?
Play the allstar game, have the week off and just do all the trades and moves before the season resumes.
Seems like a much better set up, it would be done earlier and benefit the teams by allowing the new players more time before the playoffs to get acclimated to their new team. They'd have the time off already so they could relocate too.
Hmmm, anyone got Bettman's number? |

If they can ice a lineup where
Matthews
Tavares
Toews/O'Reilly/Henrique/Name whomever
and pushes Kampf to the 4th, I'm very happy. |

Well, the all star break just coincides with some teams bye week so that's why games are rather absent.
Also, I think Bettman likes the later TDL because it allows more teams to "be in the mix" for playoffs longer. If teams became sellers now, people would begin not going to games for say Philly or other bubble teams.

the Jays traded Jeff Kent for David cone and won the WS.
Kent ended up really good..MVP etc
so...what I am saying is... it better (frank)ing work for the leafs

My take, nothing is forever…except maybe the possibility of a cupless existence for the majority of living Leaf fans.
I don’t care what they do if it makes them better. |

I think for a few year window, Toews was probably the most impactful 2 way C in the league...the best at that time, maybe. |

Would rather have Larkin than Toews. Larkin would add much needed speed to the lineup and he's no FOW slouch. |

Sure, but you take Crosby 10 times out of 10 over Toews even during that peak window. |
