OK, I'll admit I clicked and read the article.
What a giant waste of time.
Could the Leafs use Chychrun? Obviously.
He then goes on to state that the price would be big. Yeah, we already know that.
The article adds absolutely nothing. - Atomic Wedgie
The best part is that the article about nothing cites another article about nothing, which cites a Dreger quote about nothing.

a bottom 6 player who scores at a 50 point pace. sign me up - senstroll
We have that in Jarnkrok. Dont forget Henrique likley has over inflated stats due to being on the first powerplay unit, which he would not be on the Leafs.
He hasnt been very good for quite a while.

Sounds like Dregs has learned from the CIA handbook of planting a story, telling the journalist and then going on a network to affirm the story they planted citing said original planted story.

Looking at Capfriendly, they may have the picks usually 3 or 4 the to retain some $$ and or a prospect.
I think it's too expensive to do, but doable if they want. - dmnted
I agree, its probably too expensive.

I was only looking at 5v5 stuff..which I pretty much only do..and ignore PP stats
AH has 20 points at 5v5 (13g-7a)..jarnkrok is 10-8
for comparison, Tavares has 24
if we are doing the...he is on a god team, he is on a bad team thing

Henrique - Not an upgrade
Domi - Not an upgrade really
Kane - Yes
Toews - Maybe, better C then winger
Meier - Best option
Larkin Yes
ROR - Meh, having an awful year, wouldnt pay much
- Archaic
I'm with you on ROR and Larkin. I don't want ROR and I'd love Larkin, but I doubt that happens. I don't want Toews either. For the record, as good as he is, I don't want Kane. We have Marner. We need more players who are going to be harder to push around in the playoffs, not easier. Kane is an excellent player, but historically - especially in the playoffs - he has excelled with larger players around him to create space.
Meier I just don't think is affordable without too much sacrifice and we can't afford him long-term.
I do disagree on Domi and Henrique. Henrique can play left-side - and is doing so with Zegras and Terry as their only line that has a positive xG%. In actual goals, they are even in 300 minutes - which on a team as bad as Anaheim isn't too bad. Henrique brings some size and battle, is a decent penalty killer, wins 52% of the draws he takes - but he is overpaid, so he'd need to come with retention.
Domi I just like; I truly believe that he would rise to the occasion of playing here. He demonstrated in Montreal that given an opportunity on a big stage, he likes it. He also demonstrated that he didn't like playing through criticism and line demotions from the coach - so there could be problems in that. While he is smaller, he plays a little bigger and he's been effective on a horrible Chicago team. He doesn't kill penalties, so he'd have to come without losing one of our current penalty killers.
I mean ultimately Meier or Larkin would be awesome, but I just don't see those as being our big swings with what other teams can compete with and what we reasonably want to give up; Henrique and/or Domi I think we could reasonably afford and both would offer us additional role value, options and strength in the top-6.

I just think at this point in his career, he is more a 3rd line player, not a top 6 (At least on a good team). I think the Leafs need a true top 6 player to push the needle, not another bit part.
Im sure he would be decent on the 3rd line, but I dont feel thats what the Leafs need.

I honestly think a trade will reinvigorate him. I just think he has more to give then he has this year on a bad Hawks team.

im not disputing that, he is not my first choice. But I dont see the leafs getting the top available player(s)
but if $$ retained...he is signed for next season, could be a nice stop gap for all the UFAs the leafs have to deal with

I just think he lacks intelligence, and can be an idiot on the ice. Doesnt that come into play when considering trading for a player?

Its definitely a fair point. I am at the point with the Leafs that I feel like if they cant get a player who will truly push the needle on the top 6, then dont waste assets getting players who probably wont make a difference.
Who knows, maybe Henrique would help. He can certainly play centre as well which would provide some versatility. |

on pace for 30, 22, 27, 29 goals last 4 years....on one of the worst offensive teams in the league. His underlying stats says he drives offence and carries a line defensively.
Please tell me how that is a 3rd liner. |

with the playoffs, it hard to know who will have an impact... wouldnt have thought nick Paul would be a huge factor in deciding a series..but he did
