I still can't get over the Trouba-Kadri hit. I expelled an audible "oh my god" when I heard the sound of that hit through my tv.

There are so many people mad about it right now too.

Turns out you're not allowed to say a hit was clean even if the player did it in exactly the way you've been taught to do it since you turned 12.

I'd be dead if I was hit like that. I don't understand how strong these people are. I know they are. I just actually can't grasp the idea of it.

Loved it.
More so, because I really feel Kadri should've gotten called for a charge when he hit Trouba. Totally left his feet.

As an outsider how do you view Trouba as a player?

I was listening on the way home from Millers, and Lagrecas word of choice was “destroyed”

Hate him.

He's reckless more often than not and hurts people. That and I don't find him to be a particularly effective defenseman.

Kind of like a modern Dion Phaneuf but without the slapper, and I think he's going to age the same way.

More often than not, accurate. The only hit that he's thrown as a Ranger which I didn't love was the hit Khara last year.

he's their primary penalty killer, hitter, shot blocker

he's kind of taken over the role that Dan Girardi had for the team in front of Lundqvist

Halak being at the bottom of that Game Stat card is absolutely not helping your case around here.
That's ludicrous.

- Tonybere

Forget Halak ---- Trouba is 4th from the bottom! Absolutely useless charts!

Fair enough. Though I would argue that some of his "victims" need to do a better job of not putting themselves in that position. When he's out there your head needs to be on a swivel. There was nothing wrong with either of his hits last night but he was forced to fight for both of them.

And he is a real deterrent from teams taking liberty against our top players. We don't need a goon line Reaves who play 5 mins a night and adds nothing. Trouba shows other teams that there are real consequences. Just my take on how important he is - Charts are just not the whole picture for guys like Trouba.

Bingo: Appears Chytil is better than he was when he was 21 - what gives- getting better at age 24 and not washed up?

Regarding the game. Kid line, pretty good. Panarin was good aside, from the penalty. That passing play on the PP where Zib scored, pretty great. What can you say about Trouba that wasn't already said. Though his game was great for the most part. Blais was physically engaged. So that was nice to see. The Refs did a great job.. until they decided that Mangiapane goal wasn't a kick. Lucic is still a Neanderthal.

I think that goal was a call from Toronto. I try to be neutral on these plays but I cant believe that was called a goal.

When a hit is clean, more times than not the player just gets up...maybe a little stunned by the blow but not usually any lasting effects.

Great hit...good on Kadri for getting up.
