I could see the interest, I would be skeptical about meeting the asking price on Chychrun. St Louis looks like a seller, while others are concentrating on well worn O'Reilly, Tarasenko might be available - more of a game breaker IMO and possibly cheaper in terms of acquisition cost.

One of the sites did a roundup of what the “insiders” are saying about who the Leafs might go after. I think they listed every possible guy on the market. I’m pretty sure someone has them in on Kerfoot but thinks it won’t work for cap reasons.

I member travelling all over Ontario for minor hockey playoffs as a youngster. Effin loved it. And some of the rinks we played in…literally barns. It was snowing inside the rink in Blythe.

My folks kept a bunch of photos and newspaper clips as our little town mowed through these towns. What an experience to keep with you.

To me if the Leafs are going to scoop a big player it should be to add to the forward group or in net and grab depth for the other areas. I think adding defensive depth is a smart play though for sure - just save the main assets to move the needle up front.

So Chychrun apparently removed Arizona from his profile and is now following the Leafs and some of the Leaf players on social media.

Agree but as someone said, they need to fill a new arena and the team isn’t very good. Overpay before the rest of your team is too old to be competitive. Hard to convince ownership on a rebuild when they just built a shiny new building.
