Still kinda scratching my head, wondering why he was hired in the first place. What in his history excited the Pens leadership? All he did was waste 1st line players like giroux, vorecek and simmons.

Now if you want to be a middling team on a rudderless ship with no timetable to do anything constructive you hire Ron Hextall.

If you have 3 absolute stud hall of famers with 3 or so years left and you need a GM to fill in the gaps for one last run at the cup, I don’t think 27 is anywhere near a leading candidate in that scenario.

I see the nhl went for the whole woke crowd with the anthems for the asg. Not who is qualified just had to make sure there was a black woman to sing oh Canada and the guy on piano for the American anthem was just as equally terrible. Hell they both sucked. I attempted to watch the skills comp last night. Couldn’t make it through the first hour even though I was drinking heavily. It was just so (frank)ing bad. I’m done with the nhl as of this moment. The only minor issue is the 30 sec delay which is pretty much standard for all sports streams anyways. buttman has already attacked the folks at NHL66.

I havent watched sports regularly for almost 9 years and it has zero to do with them catering to woke culture and everything to do with not investing time and money and attention to something that doesnt matter at all. I still enjoy a game here and there and appreciate the skills and athleticism but to invest an ounce of passion into something like sports feels like a huge waste of time and only serves as a distraction from the day to day, which is needed sometimes. I think if viewership is down it might just be because people are finding more productive ways to spend their time.
