You underestimate two things when it comes to Johnson. Burning a year of his ELC and the potential chance to partner up with a #1 overall pick for the next decade are both big deals.

Awful to read and I feel bad for the family. I lost my mother to a heart attack, unexpectedly. Its just awful. I'm glad she survived and I hope she is able to get back to some level of normalcy.

Cozens deal won't even get the Sabres to the Cap floor this year, even with Tage and Samuelssons extensions kicking in. Sabres should have enough ELC's and 1st contracts in the lineup over the next 4 or 5yrs that the cap shouldn't be a problem.
