There isn't anything going on right now so there isn't much to write about. What is wrong with writing about other NHL-related topics?

(Also, based on various comments over the last decade, I don't think this gig pays more than a peanut or two per article)

No offense to Hank or anyone, but this site is more about the comments than the blog.

This post right here is absolutely what's wrong with this forum so much. I've been clear for a long, long time I expect a minimum of a .900% and here you go with poop you pull out of your own ass about expecting Hasek, who you manage to give a vieled insult to because I guess you werent being a big enough douche bag you need to drag down the greatest Sabre of all time too.

So, yeah. UPL a .900 % would be nice and a .910% is impossible by the end of the year IMO. Which, of course is what the original post I was responding to was all about, before you decided to douche your way in.

"If we don't make the playoffs it's because we can't stop the puck. "

we scored 7 goals in those 5 losses for 6k

6k is 12-4-1 in his last 17 starts

and you literally give him no credit

blaming the goalie is the lazy way out

What you looking to spend?

Best tablet is always an iPad.

You just want it for the sake of it just get a cheap Samsung. If you use a tablet like a computer, go ipad.

if gus tore his acl at practice tomorrow

the sabres would be a better team using the addition by subtraction model

- homiedclown

So asplund is a better player then girgensons?

I'm glad we have a professional nhl coach making those decisions. And not you.

Don't you ever get sick of being wrong?

Come on Hank, let's up the number of posts please, and about the Sabres.

We don't care about ratings or the All-Star game. I hardly come to HockeyBuzz any longer, because it is no longer a fun site for Sabres related content and commentary.

Not to moan, but Garth posted much more frequently, and had some novel takes and trade ideas... Just trying to nudge you in that direction, and fully understand hyou may have competing family requirements on your time.

- LarryDingee

Why not PM Hank with an original article you wrote 2x per week.

You've said zero to contradict a word I wrote. What would you like me to continue on to? The guy needs to improve if he's going to hold down an NHL net.
- lacaprup

Well said and tat can't be argued. He's not the guy and it's quite obvious.

None of that means UPL is going to all the sudden start posting a .930% to drag his .889 up to .910 by the end of the year. Maybe he gets to .900% by the end of the year, and if he does it means he played around .910 - .915 for the rest of the season. I'd be impressed. And that's where I've been all year for Sabres goalies. Stop 9 out of 10.
- lacaprup

yet you dog 6k, who is stopping 9 of 10 shots

How many goalies really post above a .910-.915?

You literally want him to be Hasek throwing those numbers around.

He puts up a .905 and 2.75 for the next 40 games of his career, that’s all we need right now.

He’s turning 24 in a month. Goalies don’t even peak until 28-32.

If this time next year he is between a .905-.908 and 2.50-2.80 then that’s progress. I’m sorry you can’t see this.

He had double hip surgery like 2 years ago. He is probably just now feeling close to 100%. Take it from someone who has blown out a hip - and played goalie. That and groin are the worst injuries other than knees.

Unless you are a power user I would buy the cheapest one you can find and don't bother with warranties. If it breaks, buy another one.

EDIT - Get a screen protector and a quality case (you can't go wrong with Otterbox)

Thanks.
It did have a nuce case ..just hit wrong at the corner on a tile floor.

Hey I am the last person you need to talk about Girgensons to. I would move on from him and Okposo. But not my choice, I would move on Timo and put him on Cozens Wing and drop JJ down.

JJ Krebs Okposo

That's strange, your the 1st guy I talk too about girgensons?

Strange universe these days.

Seeing the recent ice times and the 2nd line playing less then the "4th" line.

What's a 3rd line lw go for these days?

It means that you have very specific needs in your device. Graphic design, movie editing, etc. The vast, vast majority of the users are simply browsing and thus there is no difference between these devices (and no reason to spend upwards of 1k on them).

If you're tapping out at 32 then I doubt it is from the apps. Usually videos are what really takes up the space.

That's what Timo is for, and that gives Krebs a pair of hands in JJ that might actually cash a chance here and there.

I was never a fan of Miller, but this is a great article on goalies

"There is no position in sport as noble as goaltending ~ Vladislav Tretiak

No matter your point of view on goaltenders, understand that they’re typically in a no-win situation. Making great saves will cause fans to expect that to be common practice, allowing any goal (weak or expected) will draw the ire of everyone in the arena and watching on TV. Playing lights out will only cause more criticism when the player eventually regresses back to the mean. I’ve long accepted that most people have an unrealistic view of goaltending, and that is okay. What isn’t okay is that so many people think this unrealistic point of view is how all goaltenders should be evaluated.

Goaltender is probably the best postion in all of hockey. You get to wear cool equipment, you’re a pivotal part of every victory and only a goaltender can take over a game or series. In fact, there may not be a position in all of sports that can be so singularlty dominant as goaltending.

Goalies will never be viewed in the proper manner, the position doesn’t allow for such a level-headed approach. Perhaps just taking a step back, or toning things down will allow fans to truly realize what they’re watching on a nightly basis."
