Yes we are until we are above the floor in real dollars. Even if Cozens signs a 7m Avv the Sabres are still under the floor next year and that's with Tage's and Samuelssons deals kicking in.

Yes we are until we are above the floor in real dollars. Even if Cozens signs a 7m Avv the Sabres are still under the floor next year and that's with Tage's and Samuelssons deals kicking in.

I understand that and Adams can make some moves if he chooses, I know that he has a green light. But doesn't mean we still aren't a budget team at this point. After next year we won't be just because of certain Contracts kicking in but they should still have about 10 to 12mill in space if they don't go shopping.

Yup which is pretty insane. Adams wants the core locked up. I essentially listed everyone yesterday.

Then he can mix and match contracts around.

That is why I think Timo Meier won’t happen. That extra 9 mill that he wants is too much

Chyrcrun (I seriously can’t spell hit name 😂) is a better fit. He meets a need and has term left.

That said, I completely disagree with your premiss of Chick-fil-A is a better fit.

The top 6 needs a better threat on the 2nd line from the left side, coupled with some additional physicality without sacrificing defensive play.
Meier checks all the boxes including leading by example AND delivering very good production.
There is nothing to not like.

Chicken-dinner has questionable attitude (another headache isn't needed) and while playing both sides, I just dont agree with having 5 of 6 D as Lefties. A history already as a young player from an injury perspective doesn't help the argument either.

We'll see if Pegula is going to run the team with a singular focus of winning and building a strong culture, or like a jee-wiz fanboy.

I believe he needed a stronger track record of success to warrant the second-round selection that was used on him as a blocking-style goalie. This season hasn’t been a positive one for him between Liiga, junior, and the national team, either. He may still work out under the right guidance, but his movement and quickness is an issue and his game can break down against good shooters/at higher paces.
