oh I didn't say it was, I was responding to someone saying they lost interest in baseball in the 80's because of a lockout, when there were none in the 80's
- jimbro83

'81 was in the 80's
Ended up with other interests. Phils winning the World Series in '80 was enough for me.

They have way more analytics in baseball. FIP, ERA+, DRS, ORC, WAR, dWAR, oWAR, OPS, Launch angle, etc. Hockey is very simple.

people just don't understand TV and advertising and target demographics

healthy active vegans are the last group in the world anyone wants to market to

- jimbro83

Because there are no healthy vegans.

Seriously though, I get your point. The limited amount of ads I see aren't directed at healthy people. It's cell providers, alcohol and junk food followed up by a large dose of pharmaceutical companies.

Hmmm...

I definitely think analytics are extremely useful in baseball, but they have contributed a lot to making the game boring, hopefully banning the shift opens things up

The medicine commercials are out of control. But I do sing the Skyrizi song while at work

Nothing is everything…wtf does that even mean?

Yea me too. Much different to me than hockeys. Baseball is more individually separate than hockey.

Like Kane needs a better player to have better corsi

if you try harder in baseball, it can actually hurt your game

its very rare that increased effort hurts in hockey, maybe contribute to taking a bad penalty at worst, shoot wide, but overall, trying harder than your opponent is good in hockey, somebody is trying to stop you physically

Unless I'm watching a game at my buddy's house the only ads I see are on Hulu, which are the worst because it's the same four ads every break. That makes me not want to buy that product. And at least one is pharma, and another is an insurance company.
Now it's in my head to look for BK ads.

NFL has a lot of female fans, but I would say almost all of them are fans because enjoy the party atmosphere of going to a game, or having a football party

its a rarity you are gonna get a female version of TJ who's gonna sit in their drawers from 1pm on a sunday, not shower and then watch all the way until 11pm with no one around.

There's a lot of TJ"s out there

- jimbro83

I (frank)ing hope not!!
Or, do you meant there are lots of LITTLE TJ's out there?

Here is how the Blackhawks defend when Kane is on the ice. It's... bad.

I smoke before I go to the gym. Don't blame the pot

I smoke before every skate.
My buddies will all testify under oath that I am lazier on the ice when I'm not stoned.

hey, I have a legit question for you

how come all your Patrick Kane charts are always this season only...

but when you try to disparage someone like Jimmy Vesey like you did the other day, you use 3 year cumulative stats?

I didn't disparge Vesey. In fact, I'll up the quote. But in the mean time. I comapring Jesse puljujarvi's last 3 season vs a guy like Vesey.

Every trade is a risk. Has Vesey been really good this year, especially defensively, yes. Not a knock on him.
