You should use a 1st round pick as trade chip in exchange for player better than Tanner Jeannot. Pretty Simple.
- tomburton99

Yea I get it. Jeannot is attractive tho. I’m not gonna try to convince you on this one lol

Would you be interested in him for a (much) lesser price?

At first I was like Gauthier and a second which seems to not be enough

The difference this year between Gauthier and Jeannot is 1 goal. Would any GM give Drury a first for Gauthier?

I’m not doing this man. You don’t see my point. We have different philosophies on occasion

He got a first for Nils and who would’ve believed that? Not me

That's my point. You didn't think Nils was good enough. Drury found a GM who returned 1st. (Nils Having a good season btw.) Why should Drury be the one of who has the wool pulled over his eyes? What does Jeannot do that Goodrow doesn't?

Your feelings on Jeannot is different than mine. I’m leaving it at that.

I’m no longer taking from you about this

On Jeannot..all I can say is on CF (talking to pred fans) is they love the guy and probably wouldn’t even take a first for him lol. Remember these picks are in the 20s. A pick could be nothing as much as it could be good anyway.

How i would utilize my first rders is based on need. The need for Jeannot, as an example, is paramount because Blais has sucked so bad. The playoffs is where he wouldve shined, his type of game. We are teetering in being too soft, we literally saw this last year as the same problem. Going to the net and all.

Jeannot would be nice however, spending a 1st round pick on someone who will be on the 4th line playing 12 mins per game doesnt seem like good asset management. Which is why guys like Acciari, Ritchie and Fischer stand out to me for 4th line acquisitions.

No I see him as the 3RW. With Cuylle LW. Down the road. Even this year, Jeannot with Tro and Kreider. Vesey moves down

We’ve been talking about trading a first for Gavrikov, who’s a rental

This place make my head spin on a daily. At least Jeannot we could keep beyond this year

Blais and Kravtsov have totally (frank)ed this team imo. For different reasons, and reasons maybe out of Kravs control

‘We’? Ive been adamently against trading for Gavrikov.

However youre gonna take Jeannot and play him on his off wing? That seems to work out all the time.

Maybe

But do you at least agree that someone we could get beyond this year is better than a rental? I mean you dispise the Kane idea

Chairot went for a first rder, that’s a 3rd pair D wasn’t he? I know you don’t like Gavrikov idea either, but that’s what I mean. Jeannot has value past this season. And we “need” him. We have all sorts of skill, we are dangerously close to being too soft. I’m sure you disagree with that too🤷🏻‍♂️

I'll say it. I'd rather trade the Stars first for Gavrikov than Tanner Jeannot. Having 4 or 5 fourth line players dress every game seems like an easy way to not score and lose.

Jeannot alone isnt the thing that moves the needle, imo, and youre gonna trade our best trade chip for him.

The other thing that bothers me is Vesey is finally finding success as a 3RW, and were gonna take him off that line putting him in a position to fail.

I’m trying to get tougher and meaner to play against in all honesty. Because we need that imo

And Vesey is fine up there now, but he’s be even better down the lineup

Krieder Trocheck Jeannot. To me that’s a solid 3rd line. He’s is a straight line forechecker

Did you read the article? I’m asking. Not being a dyck

Yes. I want no part of Tanner Jeannot on a line that has the expectation to score. Especially if the price is 1st round pick. Gonna be a no from me for the rest of the year. Last year, would have been a yes.

That’s fair. See we can do it!

You know me with guys, I fall in love with the toughies

Truth be told I don’t think it would cost a first to get him

The third line is playing very well as it is, building chemistry and confidence. Here we go trying to fix something that isnt broken.

Our top priority needs to be RW1 and getting consistent play and secondary scoring from our 4th line… and yea 3LD.
