No, cause I hate long term contracts for anyone, so perhaps that is a good argument to move along if they get an offer that they can't refuse. - Phillywhiteout
Then this is one reason why you trade them.

Sure, the Flyers can move Sanheim if they cover about $2M per for the life of the deal, do you honestly think that is going to happen? - jd250
It will be easier to move sanhiem than Hayes. The above is not the only way he could be moved or the only scenario in which it could happen. Until it does it is all speculation.

There is no return, no team is taking Sanheim. This contract is even worse than Risto's contract IMO. - jd250
do not agree with your opinion at all.
What do you think Sanheim would have received in free agency?

I think the Flyers should pick up the phone if anyone calls about any of their players, but I would be hesitant to move Provorov or Konecny unless there is an offer made that you cannot refuse. No GM is that stupid to take Sanheim, especially given the plain STUPID contract Fletcher gave him. The Flyers can and should move JVR, Hayes and Seeler at the deadline, let Braun finish the year with the Flyers since I don't think a team will take him at this point, and then make more moves in the off-season if any other player on the roster is determined to not be part of the future here by Torts and his staff. - jd250
Why? Where do they fit in the flyers timeline to contend? So you want to extend both on long term deals is what it seems to me |

This is how business works, all businesses, not just hockey. For example if I get hired as a GM I am going to bring in my own people, people that I have worked with in the past and trust. There is nothing ground breaking here, and this is certainly not isolated to the Flyers. - jd250
You missed badly here.

This is not correct in my opinion. Sanheim would have teams interested. No it's not worse than Ristolainen's contract. Sanheim is actually a good player.

But the Bruins have no need for Horvat.

Depends on what they can get back. They have plenty of LD prospects, some NHL ready, and as the 6th, he blocks them. As the 7th, the value for what you could get back is worth it. His value as depth on a contender might be decent. The Flyers have no problem signing a qualified 7th without costing an asset. Heck, even Connauton, already under contract, is a fine 7th.

Seeler is not blocking any prospect. You aren't going to get anything for him that is worthwhile. He has more value to keep as a depth 6/7 defenseman. Connauton is not as good as Seeler.
