You can’t build a winner just adding high priced FA’s(who never sign here) without integrating young cheap talent into the lineup. We have none and unless we get lucky with late round picks we have none for the foreseeable future. He literally fire bombed whatever we had

You can’t add a piece or two in free agency? They don’t need to just add high priced players everywhere. They need one or two more pieces in my opinion. (Forward & Dman)That’s not a whole team of high priced players. They are not as bad as they have been playing. They have been decimated with injuries which was a big factor in the slump. I think they are a lot closer to being a contender then you think apparently and you might be right lol. I’m just pumped to get stud 27 yr old and only losing Beau off the current roster. They need Dobson back after the break

If he resigns its a win. If teams are desperate and he won't he could be flipped at the deadline also a win. If Lou gambles and holds him to the end of the year and he walks then we lost a pick and our top prospect prolonging any rebuild

He may love it on the island as a lot of players do once they see what it has to offer.
- Upstate_isles

I imagine it will take a significant overpay and even that offers no guarantee. We're all just assuming if they fail to get in this year, we will either resign him or trade him by the deadline. I'm probably more concerned that we won't make the playoffs and fail to resign him.

He makes us better I’m just not sure how much. At least it makes the games more interesting. That needed to happen.

You’re not sure how much? The guy is thriving in every category the isles suck in lol. I would say that will help a lot. Now you put him with Barzal. Sheesh!!🤣

This is the question. Is Bo good enough to make a big difference if no other help is on the way? Lots of other factors besides Bo. Can the team remain healthy and find some sort of consistency. A lot has to go right even if Bo continues to play well.

This can’t be the last piece. Maybe for this season but I expect changes in the off-season

No question Vukota. If Lou is coming back as GM, I think we will see very different offseasons from Lou. No more one move offseasons.

We can always trade next years first at the draft after we give Vancouver this one. This way this old (frank) can make sure you and I never see another cup again in our lifetimes.

Here is my prediction. Horvat is a massive upgrade over Beau. He excels in every category the isles suck in lol. Now you throw him on a line with Barzal and watch them both take off. This trade fires the room up. They get healthy out of the break and go on a run. They haven’t had even close to a full lineup in months. They aren’t done yet and if they fall short you still have him long term. He is signing long term I’m not worried about that. Do they still have work to do? Absolutely but you still need those other pieces and how can anybody say this isn’t a big piece? They have one of the top 3 goalies in the world. They need more fire power up front. Maybe Lou gets a bad contract like Bailey out and makes a move in free agency. Who knows but my point is Horvat is a huge piece and for some reason I’m kind of shocked some of you are unhappy. Either way it’s going to be a long rebuild so why not go for it? It’s not a finished product but it’s a lot closer today then it was yesterday and to me that’s a positive
- Vukota

You’re like me Mick glass half full guy

I think it’s a good deal. You guys had to do this. You are too far into a win now mode to stop now. I think you guys nailed it when you say that he did it too late, I really thought you guys would land Kadri. And even that was a year late imo.

You guys are always imposing to us, so you aren’t a pushover yet

Maybe we can trade Parker Wotherspoon and our 2024 third for Timo Meier?

Horvat-Barzal-Fasching
Lee-Nelson-Palmieri
Parise-Pageau-Holmstrom
Martin-Cizikas-Bailey
Pelech Pulock
Dobson Romanov
Aho Mayfield

Perhaps Palmieri moves up....is this a finished product to contend? I dunno. I presume Wally wont be back anytime soon. We were all saying this team was too slow and too old before. We just got slower and older, but unquestionably added talent in some needed categories. If we can resign him, next year becomes very interesting.

Scenario two.
Horvat signs long term. Sororkin tweaks something and misses the next 6 weeks. Isles finish bottom 10 win the lottery and give the Canucks the 24 1st 🤣🤣

It was a joke. That was my point. Cap space doesn’t do us any good.
