Cheer up! Maybe Lou gets you Chychrun next!

Hopefully Arizona is looking for wood chips and pocket lint in return.

as much as I love them trying to get more offense, is Horvat just another Lee or Nelson type of player. Does he have any speed?

As a Canucks fan here are my two cents: Bo is a great teammate and person. He is however having a career year and is realistically more of a 25g/55-60pt guy. Excellent at face offs he is a poor defensive player but for some reason there is a perception he is a two way C... FYI he isn't!

He is much more of a goal scorer than a playmaker and gets a lot of his goals from the bumper position on the PP and or deflections. He does have a good shot on the rush as well.

He will be missed as a person but I am glad the Canucks aren't going to pay him 8M+/yr for the next 8 years.

Everyone they draft has skating issues 🤣🤣 I didn’t see a great skater but what do I know. Apparently this was a bad trade so maybe I am clueless. Getting a 27 yr old who does everything pretty damn good for futures is fine by me. It’s going to be a long rebuild regardless might well go for it. If they win the cup in the next 4-5 years is it worth it? With Sororkin they’ll always have a change imo. Fack it go for broke lol

Good point about the skating issues and Islanders draft picks. Maybe calling it a bad trade now is unfair. Maybe very risky trade is more accurate? I think the unknown with Lou staying or going and what direction the team will be taking makes me more nervous.

He sounds a lot like Brock Nelson like chief mentioned.

holmstrom is a much stronger skater than Raty. I also think he will be a better player. I would be more concerned if they gave him up

possibly trying to stay relevant this season to keep the fans coming to the new arena?

POV I like bea speed but that’s about it. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anyone miss the net as much as him.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Raty. POV Kid has a nice shot but that’s about it. Of course I am probably wrong about him. Just like the one we gave up, only time will tell.

Anyway you look at it they need more offense so for now I love the trade. For now.

For now I don’t think this team should be worried about scoring. They should be worried about trading whatever they can at the deadline. This trade doesn’t make them contenders.

Have to think Bo and Barzal will get a lot more time together than Palms and Barzal did after that trade.

If it works they will play together. Palms and Barzal did not work.

They’re a lot closer to being a contender now then they were 5 hours ago. This trade wasn’t just about this year. Even though you think he only has a couple of good years left I think many will tell you at 29-30 years old guys can still get better. Nelson is a perfect example. According to you his best days should be behind him yet he is putting up very good numbers again. Look at Bergeron and Marchand and I’m sure there are a bunch of others still producing into their mid 30’s. The way these guys take care of themselves I just think you’re really underestimating their shelf lives lol but all good I respect your decision we don’t have to agree on everything. This trade could blow up in their faces but I wouldn’t bet on it. That’s just me lol

Probably not but I’m still happy with the move. I might change my mind after the season is over.

I like this trade for this year and the future- if Lou can sign him. We basically gave up Raty, who has potential, but that might take a few years and likely mid to low level 1st, which may or may not pan out as those picks aren’t guaranteed. Beau was a salary dump in my mind. You get a proven, well rounded goal scorer with some grit, who can win face offs. We now have two of the top four face off centers in the league with Horvat and JGP. Plus he’s a leader. I’m gonna wait and see how this pans out but at first glance I like it.

A stud center who does everything for a protected 1st a 3rd liner and a good prospect. Works for me. Lou just has to lock him up. I’ll worry about the major rebuild in 4-5 years. Right now I’m hoping they add something else significant either in the next couple of weeks or over the summer.
- Vukota

Retained salary made the swap of him and Beau even so they have 9 million in space however they have no.1st of anything qorthwhile left to move

Here is my prediction. Horvat is a massive upgrade over Beau. He excels in every category the isles suck in lol. Now you throw him on a line with Barzal and watch them both take off. This trade fires the room up. They get healthy out of the break and go on a run. They haven’t had even close to a full lineup in months. They aren’t done yet and if they fall short you still have him long term. He is signing long term I’m not worried about that. Do they still have work to do? Absolutely but you still need those other pieces and how can anybody say this isn’t a big piece? They have one of the top 3 goalies in the world. They need more fire power up front. Maybe Lou gets a bad contract like Bailey out and makes a move in free agency. Who knows but my point is Horvat is a huge piece and for some reason I’m kind of shocked some of you are unhappy. Either way it’s going to be a long rebuild so why not go for it? It’s not a finished product but it’s a lot closer today then it was yesterday and to me that’s a positive

I think the issue is that Bo seems like a Nelson type player and the contract is going to be very high. The other factor is Lou needed to be aggressive two years ago. A third factor is a lot of fans have lost faith in Lou and are not sure he should be the GM going forward.

I hope this room has the ability to be fired up. Seeing a teammate get run did not do it.
