Dubas won’t today. I can’t see him giving up that flexibility at this point. Kyle’s going to take a swing and it’s going to cost some stuff we like. One of the prospects we don’t want to lose, the next 5’10” Soo Greyhound he was going to draft and maybe a guy like Kerfoot to make the $ work. Not saying it will happen but I don’t think he can do the extension now.

Henrique would be an offensive upgrade over Kerfoot if he can stay healthy. I see him as a back up plan for that LW role if they can't land any of the big names. I had mentioned Perron as a similar type. Gritty, goal scoring forwards that play in the top 6 and have 1 yr of term left. Both might want to head to a contender for 2 Cup runs.

I thought about that but also wondered if they would pay the premium for retention and the extra year.

With this maybe being Bergeron and Krejci's last year I see them going for it with a rental or 2.

Henrique isnt a big name because he is on the Ducks.

In reality he is one of the better quality forwards available.

The Leafs should go all-in this year. I hope they don't share the fanbase' irrational exuberance about Knies or any other prospect. None of them are great.
