She may have been nice to you or the most liked by you but sorry, that doesn’t make her a good premier.
Had the PC’s had anyone who wasnt an absolue disaster McGuinty wouldn’t have been in power as long as he was and she likely never would have been premier. Hell had Jack Layton not passed he may have ended up Premier.
Voting options were: pick the least smelly Turd a lot of that period.
Then again one could argue that’s often the options when it comes to politics. - Cush29

I know it's 5-1 and you're not allowed to complain about the officials if you're winning, but Jesus. For the last 8-10 minutes of gameplay they have held sticks, tripped, hooked, and held players with no call. It's piss poor and not what you want to have in any professional sport. The rules should not change by the score or the time in the game. The rules are the rules.
That is all. - Monkeypunk
Agree : the call on Sandin was laughable, even without Wilson in the lineup, Caps are easily one of the dirtiest teams in the league. My son suggested off the cuff that with all the video angles of a game, there is no need for on ice officials really and upon reflection, I agree. One ref to announce and only announce penalties, linesman to blow the whistle to stop play on offsides and icing and all calls made by video evidence. Challenges ok, but removes bad officiating whether because of bias or incompetence.

We could be a little more like football where the booth reviews plays within 2 mins and have the booth reviewing things in games. The thing is it would disrupt the flow of play a lot so I dont know how they would do it. Football has the benefit of breaks after every play.

I never said anything about being nice to me. Some of the nicest Cabinet Ministers were in Mike Harris’ government. I judge them on their commitment to achieve positive things, their intelligence and the policies they put in place.
Bob Rae was good but was killed by international economic conditions
Harris was a mean wiener
McGuinty did some good things but was kind of sleazy
Wynne was generally positive but was burned by people being tired of the Liberals |

I disagree, the officials and Parros are self policed. If a coach or player complains after a game they receive an automatic fine. This is the opposite of accountability.

He had a great game. Problem is, he needs to do it regularly, not every 10 games or so. Nylander was excellent, Brodie was excellent, Samsonov was really good. Bunting had another great game.

That’s the description of almost every election isn’t it? Lol
Man that Chiefs / Bengels game was wild.
“This isn’t Burrowhead stadium it’s Arrowhead and Mahomes house” & “I don’t have we have any cigars” was pretty funny I have to admit. |

I think Engvall has been playing well every game for some time now. Got his legs back.
Washington was no match for todays late afternoon Leafs. |

Not sure, but I think that was his first goal in about 10 games. He didn't play well against Ottawa - none of the Leafs did for that matter.

Missed most of the leaf game today, but it sounds similar to the Kansas city refs.

McGuinty established the protections under the Greenbelt. Wynne refused to sell chunks off. Ford is paving every inch of farmland he can. Hazel oversaw some of the worst urban sprawl in Canada.
Wynne was a good Premier. Selling Hydro was a big mistake. She should have stepped down before the last election and turned over the leadership to someone else. - Canada Cup
Not sure she was a "good" premier but ya she should have stepped down earlier for sure.
And ford is trying his best to ruin/amercicanize the province.

Of course it’s an opinion. What a peculiar comment. But the idea of going to a video system and just using refs to announce penalties and linesmen to drop the puck seems bizarro world and won’t make people happy. There will still be penalties called or not called that people hate. |

Going to electronics and video almost exclusively has really set tennis back hasn't it? Do you honestly believe that electronics and video to call balls and strikes would not be an improvement over some spherically gifted dude with a giant chip shoulder in baseball?

Going to agree here. I do think if you can review a double minir high stick then just review high sticking and get the damn call right. System is fine but there are other avenues to tweak things. For starters make the refs more accountable post game. Other refs take questions so finally start doing it. NHL has been asked for such for a while. Put the names back on the striped jerseys. Stop hiding them. Reputation is a great motivator. And mandate more training through offseason and get the standards in line.
Id start there. Betting it would improve. |

TV does a good job of glossing over all the moving pieces during that stoppage. It's quite a strategic game.

NHL can start by eliminating game management by refs and their make up calls. I feel better if the ref just admits a mistake instead of trying to correct it. What if one team scores on the mistake and the other didn't? They still (frank)ed up the game.
