Congrats to the Eagles! I think they have a real shot this time. After watching KC and Cinncy last night, neither team looked that good. |

Well, you think that Ristolainen is the Flyers best defenseman. So there's that. McAvoy is not one of the best defenseman in the league. There is a track record of evidence. - MJL
Alright I can settle this once and for all. Who would win a fight, Risto or McAvoy? Case closed!

I remember a few hours ago when this was a hockey discussion board.... that was a good time
So what are everybody's thoughts on tippet and how he has played this season?
Add him to thev1st rd pick we get next year and do you think it was a good trade?
Feltcher unloaded a couple unwanted contracts as well....
I'm impressed with Tippet thus far. He has really elevated his game this season and he is sound defensively as well.
Him and frost (and jvr) have some good chemistry brewing but what happens when JVR is gone next season? - Bob Habib
Tippet looks like he may be solid complimentary type player. Which is fine.

so rushing up to the line before they can do a review is now cheating. Every college and pro team are now considered cheaters. |

Just chiming in. The Eagles did exactly what they should have and the 49ers made a colossal mistake.
You could see it was a questionable catch in real time and the 49ers should have been on it. Davonta did a great job selling it very vociferously.

Uhh if someone doesn't catch the ball and the team hurries up then its cheating as they didn't get the 1st down legally.
But we can agree to disagree. - Aaron_85
It is within the rules. It is not cheating
Think of Tampa having Kuch return for the playoffs. No cap hit.

Everyone is banged up besides the Eagles. They are living a charmed life this year. Guess it is their year. When is it going to be the Flyers year, so that I can truly get excited again? WTF!! |

The 49ers coaching blunders started early in the game when they put in a blocking scheme trying to block #7 with a TE.

Was wondering why do you think Andy Macdonald never got another NHL job after his stint with the flyers at age 32.
still only 36 years old.

Lane Johnson isn't banged up? - MJL Wow, one offensive lineman playing with an injury. The Niners were down to their FOURTH string QB. Cincy was playing without their two best offensive lineman. KC's QB was basically playing on one leg yesterday and was basically down to 2 WR's by the end of the game. The Eagles have been by far the healthiest team this year. Becomes a battle of attrition and they are winning that battle along with getting some serious breaks. |

Wasn't comparing the teams injuries. Hurts is clearly not 100%. I believe the Eagles still win that game even if Purdy had played the entire game. The reason why the Eagles are in the Super Bowl is because they're the best team in the league. The Eagles dominated the line of scrimmage yesterday. On both sides of the ball. They scored 4 rushing touchdowns against the 2nd best run defense in the league. A team that had only given up 3 rushing touchdowns in the last 9 games coming in.

Because of these filters, cracked me up.
The disrespect for him that they tried to block him with a tight end. Hassan might be the biggest bargain in the league, what a signing by Howie. Meanwhile, everyone's consensus DPOY got outplayed by a guy whose adductor muscle is being held together with bubble gum and saliva.
Eagles deserved this, completely overran the 'best' defense in the league. I'd feel bad for the Niners for their injuries but I also watched an Eagles playoff game where their QB got concussed and then their back-up (a 36-year-old journeyman) tore his quad muscle. Stuff happens, the better team won. |

The Eagles were basically handed 14 points that swung all the momentum their way. The blown call on 4th down and then the 4th stringer being unable to handle a simple snap cause he doesn't even belong in the NFL let alone a championship game. Again, lots of breaks for the Birds, but that's what it takes I guess. |

It makes me confident. The Eagles pass rush took over the game early. The offense ground out a number of long drives against the best defense in football for touchdowns. - MJL
Hurts when it counted, used his legs for the scoring drive that sealed the game. His shoulder will enjoy the 2 week break, separated my shoulder in June, time heals. |

100%.
I know Dawkins is up there for a lot of people and obviously Kelce as far as all-time favorite Eagles go, but Johnson might be mine. Guy is quietly putting together a HOF resume and has played through a ton of adversity in his career. His value to this team is shown in the Eagles record with him and without him in the lineup.

Not a revelation, the grind to win a championship always involves injuries and luck with injuries, but hey Foles was a backup QB, who came in for the highly touted starter and just got lucky, it happens.

Well if you get a first down call but the foot wasn't in and you do a hurry up play so noone can review it because you think it wasn't a catch but the refs called it a catch, how is that not cheating? You didn't actually make the play but got the favourable result. - Aaron_85
way off, it is not cheating, it is the game, coach needs to throw the flag, it is the 1st half, waste the challenge

Same here.. thw future is our youth and young guns and they are playing good hockey lately.
Tippet looks like he is progressing, as does frosty (haters in shambles)
Cates is fsr from a 1C but he is learning the position on the fly and doing pretty well, all things considered.
York.. he is a stud! I am excited to see him develop.
Brink is looking good for only being on game shape for a couple of weeks...
TyFo is putting it all together down there..
Hart is playing great.. Ersson is putting healthy pressure on him. Farabee is returning to good health
It's exciting to watch the kids develop (credit to Torts from me) even though we still suck (which is why we sell high and commit to the rebuild)
I love TK but am on the side of selling high on him.. we aren't close to contention
Provy may need a change of scenery but only for the right price.. him and York are solid - Bob Habib
be very curious what these kids look like at 25, we could say their middle 6, but we can hope for a surprise, like Tip being top 6, or Cates being a 2nd line center, who knows but they are still young.

Teams are given two challenges for a reason. Shanahan should've thrown the flag when he saw Smith motioning to the offense to hurry up and snap the ball. Refs also called the fumble on Purdy an incomplete pass on the field and blew any sort of Eagles run back dead. Could've resulted in a defensive TD or, at the very least, better field position. Eagles went 3 and out on the following drive. Difference is, Eagles coaching staff knew to waste no time and challenge that play.
Not gonna complain about the Eagles recovering a fumble because Josh Johnson can't handle a snap. Not sure why that matters here. Maybe if the 49ers protected Purdy better, he doesn't get hurt. |

That guy wasn't taking that ball back to the house. There were two Niners right there and he would have been tackled immediately anyway. And please don't tell me that the 4th liner QB playing didn't have a major influence on the outcome of the game. The Niners basically played this game without an NFL QB which rendered their talented offensive roster useless. QB's and goalies in hockey. Two most important positions in sports. No way around it. I mean, just look at the Birds. They lost their two games without their starting QB and they were only down to their second string QB. |
