If the Flyers can make hockey trades and become a better team, so be it.
All I really wanted coming into the season was for the team to be healthy, and for all players to raise their depleted values. That would allow the Flyers to sell at the TDL. I felt like the Flyers had some talent we haven’t had a chance to see. Roll forward and the the Flyers have good parts, just no top of the lineup parts. I did not expect Torts to get this much out of this team, especially when Coots and Cam went down.
It leaves the franchise is a interesting spot. Who can they sell and who will they try to add. February, their record in February will probably dictate what they do.
Are we all hoping the Flyers come back after the break slow? Or just go for it, keep playing well enough.
The Flyers have played better teams well enough, except leafs and Bruins |

Could’ve had him too. He even has a flyers connection! |

Hard to make a hockey trade when the players that have value and you can use to make said trade they do not want to move.
So they move JVR and Braun. Who else do you see them realistically moving that has any semblance of valu?u
I can see them maybe moving a guy like Zamula to bring in an NHL ready player or one already in the NHL. Though that is a guess as no idea what his value is to other teams. Or possibly a prospect swap.
Just a disgrace they are maxed out at 50 contracts.

How much interest did he have though in the Flyers job?

I can’t remember if he was even interviewed. Obviously the Bruins roster was way more appealing. |

The Flyers may be looking at a bottom area seed playoff chance that all but guarantees that CF will do something not in the best long term interest of the team.
IMO what is playing out is the worst possible scenario for the flyers to be a legitimate cup contending team.
I feel happy for the players. Losing sucks and being on a bad team has to be miserable.
Sadly I don’t see DS as having any kind of a vision and mandating that he wants long term success with a few cups.
The anything can happen mantra may be true to a certain extent but so is me winning the lottery. The odds are so far against it.
If your retirement strategy is relying on winning the lottery your going to end up working until you can’t anymore physically.
If your goal is to make the playoffs because anything can happen your chances of winning one cup let alone multiple cups are slim to none. |

That’s what I’m afraid of: this mid season streak gives CF false hope that he should be a buyer and surrender assets to include holding onto guys like Braun and JVR rather than trading them. |

And Montgomery was the guy who coined the name "Legion of Doom" for Lindros-LeClair-Renberg. |

Push all the chips in the middle this off season. We’re going for it - ClaudeFather Funny, I was just thinking that myself. Is it possible that this team is better than we gave them credit for being before the season started? Look, we are playing ourselves out of Bedardville, but at very least they are a fun group to watch.

I was hoping for a lot of losing but that’s long gone now. Nice to see some guys step up. Outside of York, I wouldn’t mind if we got rid of every single Dman. An extremely underwhelming group, this is a big issue moving forward. |

I think that Fletcher is a complete dunce but I don't think he is that stupid. |

But Tortorella or Krakstol will win the Jack Adams, if their teams surprisingly goes to the playoffs. |

Well if they actually sell, i would think braun, seeler maybe, and jvr. people mentioned brown, unless a team needs a 4th line faceoff guy i don't see it. Braun may get a 4th or 5th, seeler 5th-7th maybe. JVR will be the interesting one. will depend on salary retention and the team involved what the return is.
some of the other ones mentioned by others i just don't think have a chance until the offseason at least.

I wouldn't trade Seeler. You won't get much for him. He's a decent depth defenseman. Make a pretty good 7th. |
