I thought, "eh I'll save some money and just have the floor guys clean it and stain it. How hard could this be?" Not hard, but time consuming. Took me 2 full 12 hours days. I lost count at 16,482 staples.

I just watched that movie “the menu” last night. So delightfully weird and (frank)ed up. Highly recommend. It takes about 30-45 minutes before something happens that changes the whole tone

I tied all of the upstairs plumbing into my drain stack over the weekend. Bonus, the pvc cement makes you high AF.

Truth. After blowing our budget on reno-ing our en suite bathroom 1st thing after we bought our house, I thought I'd save a little by redoing the 1/2 bath myself. Ripped out the toilet, vanity and floor. I managed to do everything except the tile floor. After 3 failed attempts I hired a guy to do it. It was so small he only charged $200. I was over-budget by exactly $200.

Tile can be hard. I've done it a few times with success. This bathroom I will be doing waterproof vinyl plank flooring. Should be much easier to install.

We call our house the onion house. It has layers of finishes that is always so much fun to remove. I think there were three layers of linoleum covered with one layer of stick vinyl tiles in my upstairs bathroom.

When we pulled up the rug we discovered the old owners finished the floor around an area rug. Apparently that was too hard to move? Bought the house from two generations of white trash. Not sure I would have bought that house if I did it over.

Some of the sticky tiles can look very decent. It's a good cheap stop gap before doing something nicer.
