Available RW's that aren't wearing 88 in a certain Central city:
Nyquist
JVR
Puljujärvi
Tarasenko
Meier
Boeser
All can be discussed on why they can/can't happen. All are better options that 1st line Jimmy Vesey. - tomburton99
Pulj hasnt done enough to prove to me hes worth it.
Nyquist is probably the lesser of the evils, shouldnt cost a crazy amount. Kind of a you get what you get player.
JVR Im not too sure about. Hes a lot like Kreider without the speed. Personally, Id like him for the third line with Kreider and Trochek but not sure if hes good for the 1st line anymore. But then again we have nothing there at all so its an upgrade.
Meier and Boeser just dont seem like theyd happen because we cant keep them. However a strong playoffs and being RFAs could allow us to rent them and get some sort of asset back in return in the offseason or at the draft.
Tarasenko seems like one of the obvious choices. Your standard straight up rental.
And of course Kane… lets not forget, Kane wants to go somewhere he can resign. This would be a huge caveat for us. |

All cost way to much except maybe Nyquist. Puljujarvi has 5 goals LESS than Vesey (9 vs 4) - nyrangers9479
Jimmy Vesey has been much better than expected this year. Especially on the PK. He's also 5 years older. |

One is making the minimum, one is making 3mil. Edmonton is in the playoff hunt, so why are they moving and what’s the cost to acquire? |

And Edmonton may want to move on from him, but he is making 3mil and an RFA, so how is he fitting in next year? - airjan23
He may need a change of scenery, but he isn’t the answer by any means |

I know he was drafted as a center and hockeydb still lists him as a center - nyrangers9479
Hockeydb sucks, use hockey reference and you would have seen hes taken a total 18 faceoffs all year. |

I like Puljujarvi, always had, and he is buried there. But i could see him going somewhere for an expiring asset to help the Oilers, not to another team fighting for a playoff spot. |

Puljujarvi would instantly make the Rangers the ugliest team in the NHL |

We can’t afford a 3 million dollar project. He couldn’t even hang with McDavid, who else is better than he is lol
He’d be a beast if he could ever put it together |

The chart is weighted over 3 years which, in Vesey’s case doesnt really mean much because his play this year isnt reflected properly.
Also, Vesey has taken a total of 2 penalties all year playing 14min/g vs. Pulj who has 26 PIM on the year playing under 12:30min/g. This to me is a huge factor.
To me Pulj feels like another Gauthier. |

yeah I don't know if Vesey's advanced stats while he split that season with Toronto and Vancouver are much of a factor right now |

Every trade is a risk. Has Vesey been really good this year, especially defensively, yes. Not a knock on him. |

If the price were right I would take a gamble on Puljujarvi. Some players just need new scenery |

off season kind of acquisition, not deadline push to make playoffs acquisition
I think Edmonton could trade him to a team that's selling though |

Yeah, I could agree with that |

Part of Arthur Staple column discussing trade deadline possibilities on Kane:
Seems like the whole league knows now that Kane needs hip surgery. If he doesn’t shut down the season and get the surgery soon to be ready for free agency and 2023-24, he’s going to be damaged goods. |

Yea agreed. 3 mill is too much right now. I’m all for taking a chance on high draft picks. Idc if they suck or not, I’ll try to unlock the sob |
