Because when he's healthy he can balance the 3rd or 4th line and play both wings.
- tomburton99

that's the key, and he just can't seem to do it

If he’s on a third line something is wrong

Risk I'm willing to take just because he's not Jake Leschyshyn or Sammy Blais.

I mean yes, but at this point they have 1 top six RW and that's Kakko. I think Kravtsov or Gauhtier could do it. But you and I know that Goodrow is gonna sneak his way up there. So where is Motte's spot in that scenario? The 3rd or 4th line.

I know everybody likes Motte but what good is it to re-acquire a guy who has a 100% chance of getting injured again, he's completely unreliable, and it's absolutely because when he plays he plays his ass off.

But he's extremely brittle.

He just missed a month for Ottawa and just came back over the weekend

We could find another motte fairly easily. Aec brings up Accairi and I like him too.

He’s kinda perfect:

Pending UFA, depth at center, faceoffs, hits, chips in goals (10), makes 1.2 I think.

do we really need more bottom 6 wingers? We already have a like a dozen of them

Well that’s what the deadline is for right? A top 6 rw and a bottom 6 fwd (and a 6d)

Would make me, rightfully angry.

I think Kane might be the most affordable option at this point.

In terms of the return, because the Rangers would need get extremely creative to fit in another move.

it is the no brainer move of all time too

I just don’t get the hesitation and I never will, not just from Tom, but from anyone

Assuming we do trade a decent package of futures for someone, he is the lesser of the evils

If we are still going for a bonafide star in the top 6 as opposed to two or three pieces like last year (Vatrano and Copp). Although the cost to acquire Copp ended up being similar to a Kane or Meier after the 2nd became a 1st.

But do we have a good fourth line? Give me Motte and Acciari as part of a fourth line you can roll late and you have depth.

I’m no expert but I feel like you literally need a new website to do anything functional like that given this one’s age

Yea a chart lol whatever man. You refuse to see the potential results because of this chart. It’s not like he and Panarin never played hockey together or anything like that

Wayne Gretzky and Luc Robitaille played hockey together before they were Rangers too. Guess what? Didn't matter.

TJ that was a (frank)ing decade ago! Kane is now solidly in the twilight of his career. That's why your argument doesn't hold much weight with some of us. The only guarantee that they will pick up where they left off is in your mind. That just isn't enough reason to go back to the practices that we KNOW don't work, in my opinion.

We have living proof of two guys who were outstanding together and we already have one of them.

Are we or are we not trading for a rental? The likelihood is pretty high, I think we all agree on that, I’d prefer him over anyone else based on that past together. To dismiss that is foolish imo🤷🏻‍♂️

does anyone really think if Patrick Kane goes to Blackhawks and says "Ill only waive my NMC to go to the Rangers" that the Rangers aren't gonna do it?

I heard Jim Dolan on WFAN the other day and he clearly expects a Cup this year

you guys factor in the wrong arguments with whether or not this gets done

Dolan is a million times more relevant in this than Luc Robitaille
