So…
This is what this place turns into when the Rangers dont have any games. Its only been a couple days. - aecliptic
Rangers were rumored to have "kick the tires" on Horvat. Given he would have been a rental due to the lack of future cap room, what would you have paid? |

I hate giving up anything for pure rentals. Would have to figure though based on what the Isles gave up, you’re not completing a deal without Othmann included. |

Is Othmann the equivalent of Raty for us? Or someone else

I mean, Raty is their best prospect, right? I’d probably say Othmann is our best prospect right now. |

yeah I'd say he's the most likely equivalent
I think the difference is that in trading Horvat they traded a center and likely wanted a center prospect in return like they got in Raty |

I'm not disagreeing with you. Just sharing how I managed to go read their thoughts on this.
This site is a joke. |

What do the Sharks want in a trade for Timo Meier?
It sounds like three pieces.
“What I’m hearing is a first-rounder -- and one Grade-A or two Grade-B prospects, or one good prospect and a young, established NHL player,” a source from outside the Sharks organization told San Jose Hockey Now. |

I don't understand what LL is doing with the Islanders. Islanders had 12% chance to mkae the playoffs before this trade. Now it's only 20%. Horvat is a good player so I get the theory of wanting to trade for him, just not from the Islanders. Idk. |

Kravtsov and Jones fit that bill. We just can’t afford him after this season no matter the cost to acquire him

He’s also never even come close to the production hes had this year and it’s hard for me to imagine he’ll be able to keep it up on this defensive minded islanders team. |

unfortunately I think it would take Cuylle or Othmann
I think Kravtsov's trade value is sunk |

Maybe. I’d gladly send Cuylle if we were able to somehow fit Meier past this year. But we can’t |

I'd be perfectly fine with some combo of Nyquist, Fischier, Maatta, Wallman, Soucy (maybe Seattle keeps him), Tarasenko, Motte, Barbashev or Gavrikov.
Pretty much anybody beside the unmentionable. |

I know everybody likes Motte but what good is it to re-acquire a guy who has a 100% chance of getting injured again, he's completely unreliable, and it's absolutely because when he plays he plays his ass off.
But he's extremely brittle.
He just missed a month for Ottawa and just came back over the weekend |

Because when he's healthy he can balance the 3rd or 4th line and play both wings. |
