Ristolainen is playing very confidently offensively and has his aggressiveness back. He's made some really good offensive plays tonight and lately. However the rest of his game, same old Ristolainen. At least he is finding a way to contribute - MJL
He did look silly leaving his feet on the PK and sliding around hoping the puck would hit him there. |

A multipoint game for Ristolainen. Only a matter of time until the internet crumbles. - Pelle31Forever
And I can't wait for it
Next year it's Norris trophy or bust! Fletcher's best signing yet!

I don't quite understand where arguably York is the best even strength Dman, but gets used sparingly on the PK. |

Torts wondering how he’s supposed to massage Cates’ plums if he’s on the opposite side of the ice in the penalty box. It’s just not physically possible. |

I'm guessing, but not giving him too much responsibility too soon. He is consistently top 2 in even strength ice time and plays point on PP. With his stick work, I would think he would be really good on the PK. |

He has had some uneven play since he signed here…wasn’t as good as some said but no where as bad as others continue to say. He’s been really, really good for 5 weeks now. I think he’s probably here for the long haul and this is what they need out him if they ever expect to take the next step. |

Easy to see why Torts loves Cates….he just plays a responsible game….and the guys a rookie. |

I like Cates a lot. I just can’t wait until he’s moved out of his current role. It’s definitely not a long term thing. |

We won’t know how good York truly is until he sees tougher situations. It’s not about how many minutes he gets but what type of minutes he’s getting. |

Probably not…but he does have some decent offence to his game. I’m not sure what he becomes just yet….but you can win with guys like that. |

Ristolainen deserves credit for his offensive play lately but his overall play is still average to poor. For the game, his CF% is 33.33, xGF% 31, SCF% 38.89, HDCA 40. These are not the numbers of a player playing really well. He's contributing offensively which is great. Some really nice plays offensively but when that dries up, the rest is not good. This is the same player he has always been. |

Actually he’s been very good in all facets of the game especially the 1st period tonight…
If folks don’t think he’s been playing well of late ya gotta question if they actually have been watching the games.
On another note, Risto played net front or the pt on a 2 dman unit on the pp in buff. The guy had 4 x 40 plus point years in a row in buff. That doesn’t happen unless you have some talent. Sometimes you gotta admit the guy is playing well. |

Actually he hasn't been very good at all in all facets of the game. His all around game continues to be poor. What is seen when watching the game depends on who is watching. Ristolainen's talent has never been questioned. He's playing well offensively and making plays and playing aggressively. Overall though, same ole Risto. |

He’s tempered the check chasing. Less running around

Systems related and a function of a low zone collapse.
