Once again, I don’t know if it’ll work or not. I would however try to keep Levi. I’d probably see if I can get away with Portillo who you know at this point does not want to sign with the Sabres. Personally, I don’t think (let me highlight, think not know) that it will be enough but they can always make the proposal and see where it goes. I'd certainly smart to start low.

I would love to know what some of the actual trade proposals are in trade situation like this as it goes along with multiple interested buyers. Get to see the reality compared to the fantasy. It would even be cooler if you could somehow find out what the sharks thought of each trade proposal and how they decided on the one they ultimately go with over the others they considered. Or why they didn’t like any of the proposals if they choose not to trade him at all.

I'm not 100% sure on these trade talks, obviously.

I heard 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Take it for what it's worth.
Posters have compared the ask to debricat.

What kind of value does levi have on the open market?
I was guessing a 3rd ,being unsigned.

Oslund
2nd
Levi (3rd)

Meier were talking about, this isnt an eichel ask.

It's a Samson + a 2nd ask

I think you're low on Levi. His stock is high. I'd say late 1st, maybe early 2nd value.

Without another goalie in the system, not someone I'd consider moving.

Now let's say that the concept is acceptable to the Sharks for arguments sake. If I may a question, do you not think that the Sabres will want to trade a Mittelstadt or a Olofsson to control their payroll going forward long term? Know that it works for this season but it starts to get tight if you keep them both and take on Meier. Plus wouldn't Meier fit into a spot next to Cozens? I heard two firsts and third by the way but I digress.

Maybe, but sure sounds like he's giving a Levi a 3rd round pick value.

That's fair, levis uncertainty worries me and would likely worry any potential trade partner.

I'm kinda looking at our assets. Return from the trade from sam and 1/2 the risto trade for Meier ?

I think we could swing the trade, I wanted to include olofsson, I guess san jose could flip him.

Mitts and olofsson seem very vibey to me. Part of the core.

2nd round Pick and ( 1 or 2 of ), rosen, oslund, 2023 1st protected .Maybe kulich, doubt it would be savoie.

For some reason I want to parlay the returns for either/ both risto and sam. Pay it forward basically 2 seasons.

1,2,3 is pretty similar to 1,1, 3.

Late 1st is basically a 2nd 😉

Just goalie prospects being unpredictable? Fair enough. Still say they are in no position to trade him.

All prospects are unpredictable. Sabres probably have some idea on johnson, levi and portillo.

My hypothetical senario was based on Sam's return +

I really doubt they trade for anyone high caliber. Unless uncle terry and KA think were legit. Playoff money could be appealing.

They won't trade Kulich or Savoie. If we're basing the return on what the Islanders gave up for Horvat, it would be something like Olofsson, Asplund and a protected 1st.

That's very interesting. What would you consider as value on olofsson and asplund, pick comparison.

Olofsson = 2nd ?
Asplund = 7th round pick 2086 ?

Most of me feels like it's silly and the Sabres aren't gonna add anyone significant.

Terry's still top dog, and a fan at heart. Meier is kinda like the trailor hall addition. Minus assets.

Adams is in control problem is, what will he cost money wise with the other players they will have to sign. He doesn't want to have cap issues, they are working on that issue now, then after that they will discuss what it will take to trade for him.

The Coyotes came back again trying to work a Chychrun deal but the answer still is no on including Savoie.

Adams won't let anything rush them to move for Meier but there is interest. The Hanifin talk may come up again as well also.

Never any interest in Horvat.

Like the last comment. Hope you're right.

Now I am playing GM. If you would endulge me, let's say the Sharks demand a roster player and a prospect to go along with the first round pick; protected. Is Olofsson who you would try to trade? If not who, assuming they will be intersted in the player, who would you want to send? Would the prospect change depending upon the roster player you would offer. Saying it won't happen does not work here. I am playing the part of the Sharks GM and the Sharks definitely want a roster player. (Actually, if I was the GM I would ask for more but I am working off your premise other than a changing the second to a roster player = another first.)

Does the Islanders' trade today for Horvat change your prospectives at all on the potential trade for Meier? Is there more pressure on the Sabres to improve its roster now that a team that it looked like it was leaving in its wake has just made a sigificant move to get itself back into the race?

This is really good.

I'm a vibes guy with the Sabres and trust the process with the Bills.

I'm not sure if I would trade anyone right now off the roster. I'm hoping to move picks and truly just make room for 1 forward. Rotate the kids if necessary, keep them hungry.
Probably olofsson if we needed to make some room?
Temo is clearly an upgrade. Swedish vibes aside.

2023 protected
Risto 2nd
Olofsson

San jose would probably flip him? Keeping some salary at each stop would up his value.

KA is pretty conservative, so I really doubt anything significant happens.
