For those of you who live in the fantasy world of thinking that Timo Meier could be gotten for a bag of pucks please read this article that describes the type of trade package the Sabres would need to offer in order to complete the trade. Though I think that the writer is offering more than then Sharks are asking for you might want to take a chair if you are one of the ones who have arrogantly made any of the idiotic trade package proposals I have read here:

https://thehockeywriters....ain-trading-sharks-meier/

Hope the link works.

He's a sports writer with an opinion, not a Front Office guy.
His opinion is not gospel.

Now, for the record I have suggested a trade as follows:
- Olofsson (NHL Player)
- Rosen (Top Prospect, 2021 1st Rd; #14-OA)
- 2023-2nd Rd (open to Philly, Sabres or VGK)
- 2024-1st (conditioned on Meier signing)
For
- Meier
- SJS 2024-2nd (Conditioned on SJS receiving Sabres 2024-1st)

I also like Buf36's idea of going after Benning
- Portillo rights
- Bryson

- IonSabres

Don't think the league allows trade conditions to be based on a player in the trade signing a contract with the new team.

Clague is a good skater and has quality speed in his game.

He's shown it multiple times when needing to race back to cover for Power when he's roaming.

That's what I'd be looking for in a partner for Power, not the old school stay at home defenseman type.

Let's lean into the modern game and the speed approach the Sabres are attempting to employ.

Based on this Clague scouting report. You clearly didn’t pay attention or watch the games .

Dahlin has played with Clague

Power has been with joker

Meier re-signing with the Sharks remains a possibility from his side of things according to his agent Claude Lemieux when talking to SJ Hockey Now.

“Both options are still very real, getting traded or signing, but we have yet to discuss anything.”

Yeah that is an easy no.

Like I said before. My source last weekend said all Adams did was check in

Other people here heard more than me

Fantastic road trip, thought they played a very good road game without having Cozens and Sammy in. Clague had another strong game. There is no way Bryson should be playing over him.
- Buff36

Its gonna be bryson on Wednesday in the lineup and clague out of the lineup IMO. Vibes run strong...

Both in, if and most likely they sit samuelsson and give him basically 2 full weeks off.
Save him for the playoff run.....

Try again.

I for some reason recall Bryson being benched very recently. It was during December that he was benched often for Clague. I think he's only missed a game maybe 2 this month.

Meier trade looks very accurate.

Not so sure about portillo and bryson.
Seems like they almost have negative value with Bryson's contract?
Portillo has very little value, unless theres a compensation pick like johnson.

Lol Clauge had a huge gap in games where he sat. But okay.

Bryson will continue to play over Clauge

The comment was about one of Clague's quality abilities and how that should be a key quality to look for in another top 4 defender.

Your response was clueless and makes me wonder if you even know what you're looking at when you supposedly watch the games.

But please, carry on...

I agree, that's the pecking order.

I have really liked the clague signing, low key signing like claiming jost.

Things that gm of the year candidates do regularly.

Improve depth.....

Things that quality teams also do is understand when they make a mistake, and act on it, like waiving Bjork and Hinostroza.

Bryson has been very bad this season.

I'm not here to say Clague is exponentially better, but Bryson has been so bad that at a minimum, they should be using a rotation between the two, and play the one who is playing the least badly until it's time to rotate.

Is MSG next, or are the Knicks still too much of a cash cow?

The Devils, Sabres and Rangers sure aren't.

Wouldnt suprise anyone, if they add another defenseman better then clague or bryson.

I'm not looking to replace joker as a second pairing and trade for chickenrun.

Maybe a luke shenn type 5/6 guy?

Potential gm of the year Kyvynv Adams will make a couple low key moves IMO
I cant see the Sabres going into the playoffs and. E happy with tiny elmer selke asplund as a 13th. Forward

Man did he get destroyed yesterday. I think it was Reeves? That's expected in playoff hockey.

Meier :

Rosen OR a 2023 protected 1st , turns into a 2024
2023 2nd rounder, take your pick
3rd rounder 2024

I heard they are looking for 1,2 and a 3.
Not sure if its %100 accurate.

KA could turn the risto trade (rosen and 2nd) plus a 3rd into meier......

Keep the current team intact

I like the idea of Meier on this team. A winger that scores and hits would be huge. We have far more assets than roster spots. If you can make this trade without disrupting the vibe(and the future cap), I think you do it. That being said, I'd much rather see the Sabres find themselves a physical shutdown defenseman.

Clague deserves to play more on merit. The love and loyalty they show to certain players at the bottom of the lineup is odd.
