They are not going to trade these guys for futures, is there a contender that will part with a top 3-4 defenseman in return? Maybe it’s an up and coming team that has one of these defenders they would move.
Hornqvist has had several concussions over his career, and he’s had two more (at least) this season. The latest one was from a particularly sneaky blind side interference play, he really got rocked. He may not come back from ltir, if so, their cap issue w/being able to activate Duclair goes away. FL not going to tear anything down.
There is no incentive to tank when you don’t own your 1st round pick, but there is plenty of incentive not to let the trade you made for that pick become the biggest joke ever.
