Thank god for replay, Barkov slap shot goes off the white inner bar, ref waves it off, Swayman skates off knowing it was in. Panthers 4-3 win. |

100% no reason to hurry with Korchinski or any prospects right now. They don't learn better by being manhandled in the NHL playing 9-11 minutes a night. None of the Hawks current prospects are sure fire superstars who you can't keep out of the NHL at this point. Let them grow and most importantly earn a roster spot.
Going into next season KD needs to make sure there is health competition for all positions and don't fall into the trap of rushing young players onto the team. |

AA fails to get a shot off on a blue line in breakaway, and dumb @ss Jones takes a selfish penalty in the offensive zone.
Really can’t make this this stuff up. |

Not really the same type of player. Boqvist was certainly a reach and could have stayed in the OHL for one more year based on the fact that he was still adjusting to the small ice. This group also had an obsession with clever little defenders who didn't have a 5th gear.
Byram is more of a comparable comparable based on the league they played in and stats though K2 seems to be less injury prone, a bit taller anyway and a better skater. And when healthy Byram is a very good NHL player. - fattybeef

Nurse actually tripped Jones first. But yes, some trips are different.

Calgary looked like they were skating in mud, Oil look like they are on the man advantage all night. |

You thought Vlasic should have started the year with the Hawks, and he got hurt “marinating”in the A. Maybe the Hawks should of waited another year before signing him?

The past dozen games or so i just have to say I've been impressed with Kurashev's skating in very tight spaces, stopping starting creating space for himself with the puck |

Injuries happen, but he's already playing again, NHL is so fast getting your bell rung can happen in a split second, and i still think Vlasic is way more prepared to play in the NHL than any youngster we have in our system.
I'd rather they treat him like Bouchard, Dobson, Durzi, Clarke and so on, even Makar played in college for a couple of years. |

Caught two of the Seattle WHL games on local TV last night and tonight. Last night was an easy win over a rebuilding Spokane team. Tonight Portland beat Seattle 4-2 in a wide-open well played game. Portland took over first place from Seattle with the win. Seattle led in shots the whole way but Portland goalie was hot.
Nolan Allan played well both games and scored a goal in each. He is at 2LD and is settling in now. His defense was good tonight and he rubbed out a few guys along the boards. Passing is getting better too.
Korchinski played well, had a nice assist to Sawchyn for the first goal, and nearly scored in tight after a nice feed from Sawchyn later in the game. He took a stick to the face, and left, but came back so hopefully it's not serious.
Korchinski and Sawchyn seem to be connecting pretty well right now, and are making good offensive plays and getting points. Have to admit I will actually be a little disappointed if the Blackhawks don't find a pick to use on Sawchyn in the draft.
LD Luca Cagnoni (Wiz rank #54) had 2 goals for Portland. He also had a number of good passes out of the zone, and had a good game overall. |

KK has a totally different body type than Bobquist. KK is bigger now than Novquist even after Bovquist has buffed up. Bovquist also had concussion issues before he was even drafted. Should we make KK wear a mask while he is playing also? - LAHawk
That Boqvist spelling is everywhere |

Bobquist Novquist and Bovquist sounds like a Swedish law firm. And Boqvist could be the junior partner.
They specialize in personal injury cases. Get it? |

He had injury problems before he came into the NHL. Its an assessment based on skill level and has nothing to do with boys and men.
Sending him back to run circles around the AHL for a third straight year is silly.
Its not like Kirby Dach where he had one decent year and then came into the NHL. |

Him coming to the NHL as 19 year old is the equivalent experience wise to dobson as a 20 year-old based on his birthday. Came up one year after he was drafted.
Bouchard probably should have come up sooner and he’d be past this sophomore slump by now.

You know I've heard Sharpie talk about how playing in all those playoff games took years off his career. I guess I'm just not a gambler like others, since we are rebuilding i protect, shelter, my investment let him mature as a person or player in a lesser system he excels at, and bring him along slowly. Added i bring up Sharpie because what if this has the same effect on players who are talented but really aren't ready for the NHL physically.
I think more good can come out of this than bad, last time i saw Reichel come up for a 3 game stint he looked like a really really good hockey player, something he wasn't even close to resembling all the other times they gave him a taste of the NHL
I guess we just disagree and that's fine, but i sure hope they take the long road going forward |

Charlie McIlroy and Brandon Carlo weren’t riddled with injuries coming directly into the league, with like 4 games in the A. And who was the defensive coach of the Bruins when they first came up?
Has Mitchell benefitted with additional time in the A. ? He is no farther along than he was at the end of last season IMO. |

McAvoy was 20 and over 200lbs same with Carlo but Carlo sucks
McAvoy hasn't played too many full seasons either
I get it we disagree |

Carlo sucks? Hawks can only wish that their defensive defenseman prospects sniff Carlo’s career. |

The Athletic is rating the prospect pools for each team, one per day. They’re at #12 and the Hawks haven’t appeared yet. For the Hawks to be in the top 11 (at least) is impressive considering that their prospect pool looked like a year ago. Add to that 2 picks in the first, second and third rounds (at least) of the next two drafts the prospect pool stands to get much deeper and with more quality prospects.
KD’s paid a price for these results; DeBrincat, Dach plus Hagel and all the losing this season (for the 2023 draft). KD isn’t afraid to make big moves, but will they pay off?
I take these rankings with a grain of salt, they’re certainly not a guarantee of success. But losing while have solid prospects is much better than losing with no prospects (which the team has done the past few years). |
