Pretty much agree with that. More emphasis will be put on the injuries too: 'Imagine if we had Coots and Atkinson all year, we'd be a playoff team!' Only 8 points out of a playoff spot baby. - TobyFlenderson
And sometimes the secondary assist is the key play and the primary is someone's rebound that got tapped in. Or maybe nothing else would have happened if not for a good entry or takeaway but there were two other touches before the goal is scored and there is no point awarded to the player who started it. Ultimately, it kind of evens out.
There are some who slag plays for lots of PP points and not so many ES points. But they count the same for a team. - bmeltzer
didn't basketball try to take away the secondary assist thing but there was an uproar? i thought this happened a couple years back.
1. Tippet is going to be a great player and is part of the future here
2. Noah Cates is the greatest player of all time, no one compares
3. Frost screwed up again, see 6:00 minute mark
There is not one player on this roster I wouldn't listen on . Made it clear numerous times I move on from the "Core" of ivan sanheim Laughton and tk. You will never ever win with this group. All they know is losing. They have accepted it. Individually they all have good value imo. So you can fast track getting back into contention in theory; depending on what they seek in return.
Hart is an interesting case. Where does he fit in this timeline to "contend"? He will need a new contract after next season. Do you commit 8 years? If so at what number? Imagine it starts at 5.5 (or more) no?
Hayes has value with retention. RR is unmovable unless max retention and added assets.
Would not shock me 1 bit to see JVR re-sign on 1 year ext. Though have to imagine he wants playoff hockey. Or I hope he does. - hello it's me 2050
Sanheim is unmovable IMO, he is significantly overpaid and is just starting a new 8 year deal. I would move Provorov if the return was right, because the Flyers have no one on their current team or in the system that can play the tough minutes he plays. To me, you win with players like Laughton and TK, both are really good players that are hungry to win. You don't sell a good stock just because it had a bad year, otherwise you miss the boom the following years. Its the same with these two players IMO.

Both players in TK and Laughton are having good years though. I think Fletcher should absolutely take calls on TK come deadline and off season, no better time to cash in on this guy

Not sure as i am on the fence. Then i look at what happened with simmer and i am more inclined to agree with you.

Yea, that was tough to see him go and for such a small return. Horribly handled by the GM. My thing is when is this team going to be relevant? 4-5 years maybe? TK lands you a big return which will aid in getting out of this mess. He’s really the only player/contract on the roster that can do it

Oh i get it. The return would be the selling part IMO. Maybe he will, but his playing style and size, guessing he will not be in the league after 35, prob sooner.
Not sure what you'd be looking for, but would want a prospect and a pick, each may depend on the level of the other. he is not a center, so not sure if he can get a return like carter, richie or schenn.
with simmer, it was also what his next deal was signed for.

Depends on whos the partner. But I think we can get a first and a prospect. I’d give Buffalo a call, maybe they want another guy to expedite their competing. Ton of prospects and picks, some cap space currently

I can see that. and who knows what team has a injury that they need to fill and are willing to pay. Buffalo would surprise me, but then again every trade deadline and offseason there are moves that aren't shocking, just didn't see them.

best time to cash in on laughton we've waited years for him to do something

Organization desperately needs assets, if we pick up another first this year, that’s 4 picks in the first round the next two years. Make it happen.

You are right. ✅️ BJ will pass flyers easy after their successfull tank. But Isles could be the 8th in the Metro next season. Lou's geriatric strategy will fail again. Like it did at the Devils.

their roster will be stacked after they get a top pick and more this year

I really love his pressers!! - jd250
Tortorella's press conferences are a waste of time.
He should also go back and look at the tape of that goal. Angelo, after he turns the puck over, stands like a dunce and watches while Frost busts his ass to try and cover not only his man, but also Angelo's man. One player made an effort, and another didn't. Yet Tortorella calls out Frost. That's what makes Tortorella an bumhole.

Yeah I am with you. I'm notbsure how he calls out frosty for that play.. torts doesn't seem to like frosty very much, which is disappointing because I see a huge improvement 8n his overall game.
Frost may want out of here after this season
