Great finish to the third period and OT. Leafs gave the push in the latter part of the third.
Proud of the gang in the last two games.
Both NY teams that give us a difficult time it seems.
Really comfortable with Lilly on the ice to start OT. Been a breath of fresh air this year. |

Yeah I have learned to be a little more patient with prospects with how some guys have played. Id still trade most prospects like Knies if it got the leafs a cup though

Another blast of winter down here after a quiet early Jan.
Had a foot of snow on Monday to move. Got that cleaned up, then another 5-6 inches last night. Shifted to an inch or so of rain by dawn.
Will wait till mid afternoon before I move it. Turning colder this evening. |

Last time a team traded a top prospect for an expiring contract was Stone and they re signed him.
There is nobody as good as Stone.
Konency is the only guy I consider. |

Better de a doozie if we're moving Knies though.
Haven't seem him with big boys to know what he might be. Perhaps that adds to his value on the other hand. |

I'd have no problem adding someone of his size to the lineup.
But...they have to be mobile or the next thing is they try to shelter the guy and that's where things go south. |

But do you add him to a trade where you’re moving a first and maybe something else for a 10% improvement on your chance of getting the Cup? 15%? Because that’s kind of what the return of a good trade means.
I’ve read a lot of stuff on the kid lately (and yes I know all the prospects that never made it stories) but he projects to be the kind of BIG (cheap) top six winger that we’re looking for. I’m not saying this year but going forward. It better be really special to include Knies. |

I really struggle with Kerfoot. From measurable metrics, he is a positive contributor - he draws more penalties than he takes, he has more takeaways than giveaways, and he has a positive expected goal rate - as well as an actual positive goal rate.
But when I _watch_ his game, he is soft on the puck, soft on plays and soft in engagement; these don't lead to giveways or turnovers inasmuch as they lead to missed opportunities to obtain the puck which sustains the pressure against or make a play with the puck.
I mean, on the PK he doesn't have the worst numbers on the team in terms of shots allowed, but he does have the worst for Scoring Chances against and HD Chances against, and is second worst to Jarnkrok (using Rates/60 to balance it), who is typically his PK partner. While that's not on him exclusively, obviously, he is one of the people who need to be in lanes to prevent those HD chances from starting up top - and we see him fail in these assignments time and time again. The thing to consider here is that Marner/Kampf usually start against the opposition's top PP unit when they are rested with the puck dropped in our zone; Kerfoot and Jarnkrok usually come out next, when the top line is tiring and try to limit the zone entry.
I'd rather have Engvall out there instead of Kerfoot because he's better at reading the play and closing gaps, and while he isn't physical, he isn't as soft on the puck.
As it is right _NOW_, Keefe views Kerfoot as a swiss army knife of sorts and inserts him into a lot of situations. I think a lot of us feel that he fails to some degree in each of these situations and roles, but ultimately he is still managing to produce a net positive result. |

I swear to goodness, I'm not joking when I say this:
I would not bring Konecny to Toronto, because it will just stir up the hornet's next of how we could have had him for nothing, but chose to trade down for Bracco and Dermott.
You know Steve Simmons and Komisaraus Rex will be all over it. |

I don’t hate Kerfoot as much as others but I do see him as expendable. If Dubas adds to the top six it likely turns Jarnrok into the Swedish army knife able to play multiple spots and with a bit more offensive upside. |

the problem wasnt trading down and passing on Konecny
those 2 picks could have been Sebastian Aho and Anthony Cirelli or Kirill Kaprizov

FULL TUGNUTT! YOU NEVER GO FULL TUGGER!
Anybody rockin' a Sundin sweater? - gravyface
Sorry for the late reply, today has been a crazy work day - damm work getting in the way of my HB time!
A-aron - as far as it being a 'nice outfit' thank you it makes me feel pretty?
We have an Aaron on our team actually and legit call him A-aron and he scored last night. Whole bench of guys yelling "A-A Ron" was pretty funny.
No Sundin jerseys to be found.
Wedgie - yep, Cheevers-esque mask. The stitches are vinyl - easy to do and I like the look.
Regarding the jersey, 'tis not a Tugger jersey, rather one that matches my attitude with the opposition fairly often & 100% if they are in my crease.....

When Matvei Mitchkov goes 20th overall or some stupid poop, this will be all I have to say. Also happened to Tarasenko and Kuznetsov. Let alone Kucherov who broke U18 records and people thought the Crimea would mean Russians never played in the NHL. |

geopolitical situation is different though, Michkov is signed until 2026 and who knows if he will be able to come over. Teams with multiple 1st round picks could be willing to take that risk. |

Like most people, when I think of Cheevers, I think of his time with the Maple Leafs.
I think he also played for Boston.

Keefe and possibly Dubas have some decisions to make regarding the powerplay. I honestly don't know how you can go into the playoffs this year with Morgan Rielly up on top on the PP. I don't like the 5 forward PP...but I like it better than 4fw + Rielly. The powerplay simply HAS to be better than it has in past playoff series losses. |

Its a trade I doubt happens.
What's extra funny is if Dubas kept the pick and picked Konency Leaf fans would be like "Classic Dubas drafting small weak wingers, should have drafted a D or some 6 foot 8 guy. |
