I want a top 4 defensemen.
Bump joker down and get rid of Bryson. Joker since coming back has played fine. But I just want better.
An act of god or something has gotten into Lybuskin and he has cleaned up his game. - Sabretooth9
Good post. Although I feel like the defense is playing pretty well lately.
Sabres Need a solid 6 or 7 defenseman if were making a playoff run |

To me, we have a great, not good, great locker room. I've heard way too many players, ex players, and media say so to not believe it. We also have way too many picks and forward prospects to have to subtract anything off of the NHL roster to add a very good player at D or F. - lacaprup
I would agree with this... TBH we dont really need a top 2 pick the next couple years other than a higher end D prospect (which doesnt seem to be in this draft anyway)
I would also say the teams IM thinking about dealing him to may not be looking for a 27 year old |

Carolina is very savvy when it comes to their management.
They traded for Max P. for nothing but future considerations, and treated him like an in season pickup when he recovered from his injury.
Even though that didn't work out due to getting injured again, having the ability to place Max's contract on LTIR is going to open up more cap space for trade possibilities.
Very smart to make a move and have a plan for the move working and if something went awry. - kingcong39
Who could we get in a trade of Olofsson to them? |

Now everyone loves Olo all of a sudden, people can't wait to move him now they love him. Just like Hinostrosa, people can't wait ti get rid of him but now that was on waivers if they Sabres didn't have him, people would be going after Adams because the Sabres didn't grab him. Only on Hockey buzz. - SABRES 89
I don’t love olofsson. But he is being used correctly by Granato.
For years and years, previous coaches forced olofsson on the 1st line and top PP. For his limited skills set and lack of speed. That was not a good fit
With the current Sabres team he is on the 3rd line / limited minutes and a 2nd PP specialist
The reverse of this was Derek Roy years ago. On a stacked Sabres roster he was a 3rd line center with vanek and had a 80 point season
Once he was boosted to 1C. He struggled. He was not used correctly
It’s all about slotting players directly |

I agree with you they are all playing good right now. Even Bryson.
I just think that top 4 d. Could help elevate those big minutes by Dahlin, samuelsson, and power.
I know joker has been taking those minutes. But I want better
The only forward I would want is an elite forward. Timo Meir for example doesn’t move thag needle. |

The big ? is Vic part of your future, and how much are you willing to sign him at at 29 and for how long. This TDL could be especially if he stays hot a opportunity to get good value on him. - Buff36
You just dont get it.
You and ion just want to be right so badly in regards to olofsson.
Just admit you were both terribly wrong and move on.
Why in the world would you trade a player who has put us in the playoff hunt.
Let me guess, you want debricat, ef bear or crouse in return 😀 |

So, I'm thinking of ordering a sign to bring with me to games:
First to win a playoff series:
Buffalo Sabres -198
Toronto Maple Leafs +200
Touching the money? |

This is a legit question. Vic can play on ANY TEAM in the NHL. He also seems to love being a Sabre. He is freinds with Dahlin. I'd love to keep paying him the same #. He's only getting better so far.
I am certainly not trading him this season while I am in a playoff race. Who the hell trades goals off their team when they're 3 points out of a playoff spot? - lacaprup

yeah in a vacuum it's cool until you jump into reality and it's very challenging to make work and justify.
Start with the defense. This offense will only get stronger, and we have the 4th most goals in the league. Our PDO is 1.004 so they're right where they should be. Our HDCA (high danger corsi against) is 9th highest. Bad. Get better defense.
Defense>Offense
Better defenders get more zone time for an extremely potent offense. - TheSabresTaco
The offense will only get stronger than it is this season? How so? |

They gave up 20 high danger chances last night, including 15 at even strength, and only had 6 overall themselves.
Not sure how great the defense is playing, especially some members of the defense. |

Okay, it’s been much improved from earlier in the year. I agree it’s not great. That is why I want a top 4 d
Someone to eat those minutes up that we can trust
Bryson and Lybuskin still make me nervous every time they are on the ice |

If they do anything in season to help this team, I'd love them to add a veteran defender.
I'd prefer a longer term defense addition, but that feels more like an offseason then in season move. |

Unless you think Olofsson is worth a 5th like Bear cost. Get what Boss that a decision will need to be made on him, I think you don't get that. If they keep him, fine, I hope we get this version the rest of the year. But if he is not in the future plans than they should trade him while his value is kinda high. That's called good asset management!! |

Boss, YOU have been wrong on 90% of your takes with the Sa res.
Sabres are strong in goal scoring and weaker on Defense.
To improve, a team should use its' strengths in a trade to upgrade its' weakness. Not really hard to understand, well for most anyway.
You have constantly boosted that Olo is a top line player...as far as 2 years ago I stated he's a 3rd line player as his defensive deficiencies have outweighed his offensive production.
He is on a very, very strong heater right now and still has 10 more goals to score to become a net neutral contributor.
But go on, you be you. |

I actually think the CHYCHRUN rumor. I would be good with that.
Dahlin - samualsson
Power - joker
Chychrun - Lybuskin
When the game gets tight ….. you swap joker and Chychrun. Run your top 4 for the last 5 minutes of the game or what ever it may be
He has this year and 2 more years of 4.6 million a year. So he has term. |

I do understand olofsson's situation much better then you.
Play his contract out and go for the playoffs this season and next
Slow roll kulich or whomever
It pushes contracts and preparers players for the nhl.
You're still trying to destroy the continuity of this team for some stupid reason?
You still in rebuild mode?
You were ready to bench olo for vinny hinny 😀 |
