Wild thing is, Teams are really starting to notice the Sabres, players saying things in there interviews about the Sabres. Way things are going teams are gonna have to build to contend with Buffalo's 4 line wave of Speed Forecheck and Scoring especially if they added Timo. |

All Sabres picks are going to become 20+ goal scorers.
Joking aside, Quinn may need some more time in the A. He’s been non-existent lately.
He needs to add a lot of size this off-season. - ImThatGuy
1st full season, total non-issue and the A doesn't help him anymore. He's been driving the net lately just coming up short. Some strength will help that.

Seems like an easy fit with Okposo and Anderson coming off the books, maybe even Girgs as well.
Potentially 9.7milly . There Meier's money right there + some extra - DirtyDan
I wouldn't go higher than 8.5-8.75 for Timo. 7yrs 61.2m seems like a very Happy Number |

And Adams said “no thank you”
I don’t think it’s a terrible deal for the Sabres.
The 2nd. We have a few of those. And a 3rd is not much
The 1st is a deal breaker as of right now.
(All pending a contract extension that isn’t insane) - Sabretooth9
The 1st is a deal breaker if it's a 2023 1st, but is it a deal breaker if it's a 2024 1st? |

Rumor, likely from his agent, is he's looking for $9M per on a long term deal.
Doesn't mean anybody would offer that. |

So, the DeBrincat return...? - kingcong39
and DeBrincat moved without an extension
Getting Meier to extend here is the difficult part, not the trade.

I'm not worried about immediately extending Meier.
I'm looking at him as a rest of this season and all next season acquisition, then seeing how things have gone by next trade deadline, before worrying about extending him.
Yes, that means qualifying him at $10M for next season. |

Yeah I saw that, that why 61.2m seems like a Happy Medium. That's 8.75m Avv a little short of his 9m |

I don’t understand the salary cap concerns at all.
They have like no one signed to the roster in 2-3 years besides Thompson, Skinner and Samuelsson |

Right now he’s a rental. So the value isn’t thag high
Again if he signs an extension. Then we should be okay with moving our 1st.
But right now. You wait and see |

Dahlin is going to be paid a lot
Cozens is 7-8 mill a year.
So possible 18-20 mill for both of those players alone. |

How on earth can we come close to saying this right now? We have literally no idea how guys like Quinn/Peterka will perform during that timeframe - sbroads24
So we should all just throw our hands in the air and give up? Sure, Quinn and Peterka are semi-unknowns. The rest of the guys are pretty much known at this point - it is just a matter of how much.
I am sure they have salary projections for all of their players for several years. Some are going to be low and some are going to be high. This isn't a 4 million-per-year player that we are talking about, this is a guy that is going to cost north of 9 per. I think our roster becomes dangerously top-heavy.

And that was also incredibly foolish both in terms of potentially losing him as well as leverage in contract negotiations. He isn't worth what they paid.
Getting him here is the easy part.

By rental, do you mean they would only have team control for the remainder of this season and next (similar to DeBrincat and his upcoming $9M QO)? |
