I waste no more time here than you do on 49ers boards, or in 49ers backers bars in Florida

They could play him 3rd pairing and you would have a stud on all 3 defensive lines.
26-23
25-10/46
Chychrun-Clague

Ideally you would have each pairing getting around 20 minutes but gotta think Dahlin is getting special teams time and playing more. No need to do the Ristolainen 30 minutes a night tactic

- Zschalberg

Power, dahlin and samuelsson should be playing 70-75 minutes combined.
Joker around 20 IMO. He played well yesterday and led the defense in minutes for some of the game.

Just an opinion, but adding chickenrun and playing our top guys less, doesnt make sense.
They are young and can handle the minutes.

What makes me nervous, is trading away the guys this staff have drafted . I finally have faith in them, things are going pretty smoothly.

Everyone wants to make the playoffs, but those ecl's are gonna be important to maintain when were good.

Gonna be paying some big $ if guys keep up their paces.

- Boss34

They can make it work.

Girgs, Okposo, Olofsson, Anderson, Bishop (IR), Hino, Bjork and Hodgson (BO) serves to save about $21m off their Cap.
That pays for Meier, 2RhD, Dahlin right there. The other extensions are easily absorbed by them being a Cap Floor team now.

I recently posted okposo at 3 million thinking its difficult to ask a vet to minimize his salary tremendously.

After watching the Bruins game, Bergeron and kryjce make 1 million or slightly more. They took the discount , kyle could absolutely sign for 1 -1.5.

Current 4rw 4 years 2.8 = 11.2 million
Krebs 850,000
Okposo 1.5 million

Keeps all 3 in our 6 million or less structure on defense.

You brought up 2 30+ year olds doing nothing significant on their teams.

They wouldnt fix our back-end

- DirtyDan

Jenson has 20 points in 51 games playing 20 plus minutes a night for a caps

Gustafsson has 27 points in 50 games for caps playing 20 minutes a night

one plays on 2nd team pp and the other on first team pk

both are plus players

joker and bryson combined have 14 points in 66 games and bryson is a few groups behind the leader for the green jacket with a -17

take the L

Slumpbuster should get a chicken man Jersey.

I worked out a reasonable % split between positions just yesterday with uncle ion.

I now feel like I wasted a whole day on hockeybuzz.

Am I the only one that feels this way sir?

I wouldn't blame Adams if he went either way. Make a splash or stick to his original plan. The team has developed and grown more than anyone could have expected. The Sabres have the Forward prospects coming up that will make this team better over time. But they can also afford to make a splash if they wanted to. Timo would help this team now and for atleast another 5yrs, and say bringing in Murphy would really push the needle. And they could do it, would make it tight in 4yrs but could be done. Really wild dilemma Adams has, actually a pretty good one to have.

Lol

I like Murphy as the only defensive upgrade

Meier would be awesome in a Sabres uniform.
Probably need to move some big assets though.

Then work around the cap. Eventually

Meier would also work as a remainder of this season and all next season addition, giving the non-NHL roster Sabres forward prospects a full development time before joining the NHL roster.

If Skinner's contract was movable down the line (3ish years) I would be much more open to spending for Meier. I don't believe we could move him without his permission.

I never even brought up bryson. You keep moving them posts.

I'll take the 23 year old over both.

27 pts playing first pair and PP time isn't great.. especially on them Caps

I'm gonna speak for myself on this one.
I really think all 3 guys are part of the vibes this season.

I wouldn't really do anything. Especially pay for a high end defenseman. Power is gonna be able to cover up mistakes for a regular average dude. Very soon.

I agree with 39, if we could land meier and have a solid handshake resigning him. You need to kick tires.

I also like connor Murphy with salary retained.
Adam's isnt gonna make a huge splash....

- Boss34

SJ, if they had a deal mostly in place, would allow for trading team to negotiate with Meier ahead of the trade. So, he'd come with an extension in place most likely

The way the Tage line is playing, don;t understand why we'd be considering moving Skinner

I think a lot of the desire to get chicken man is our lack of D prospects and al the quality prospects we have up front

literally if johnson walks he have nothing in the pipeline for D

- homiedclown

can we throw in comrie in exchange for Vejmelka as well.. that seems even

Good post

I'd sacrifice some roster spots if we traded for Meier.

Wish we could include the "glue" that holds this whole team together.

That was said in context of acquiring another big contract. We kicked this around int he offseason when there was discussion around Debrincat. In another 2 - 3 years the salaries are really going to become an issue. If you have to sign one of the kids and we are out of room the obvious contract to head out the door is Skinner's.

I think SJ would rather the solid contributor, the Olympian, an NHL Allstar, assistant captain and 3 time 10 goal scorer.. the Lion eater

YouTube tv or Fubo I’d think but they are still like 70-90 a month.

Fubo is the only stream service that has msg.
