Don't change a thing for Thursday.

Definitely. This is how you win playoff games with this style. They did something in the practices.

I have an idea for a completely redone 4th at the deadline.

Trade with Arizona for Nick Ritchie and Christian Fischer. Trade with STL for Acciari.

Ritchie, Acciari, Fischer

With the lines as is they are tonight, no trade for any major players.

What do you do with Gauthier and Kravtsov?

Well, did you like what you saw today? Where does Kravtsov fit in this current scheme/style of play? I think we can all agree hes not a 4th line player.

Which I think was the consensus view when the revamped lines were announced at practice Saturday
Kravtsov 8:05
Leschyshyn 9:07
Gauthier 8:45

It was a line put together with whatever was leftover for the sake of having a 4th line.

Agreed, this is what I wrote in the blog: "Unsure how to classify the fourth line, as it's a co-mingling of styles with no true defined strength. Though the weakness would look to be defensively, making this trio as the bottom grouping more than somewhat odd."

I think Kravtsov is an interesting one. I think he’s going to be a real good player, but I don’t see him with a future here. I’d be willing to trade him for a guy like Kaiden Guhle, young LHD that plays with an edge. I’d be willing to see if Kravtsov could get us Greenway+ from MINN, but in no way would I just give him away. His value is probably a little low right now so it wouldn’t be the optimal time to trade him, but maybe MINN would want the ELC/young player given their roster crunch. Or maybe Gordon would want to have him being he’s the one that drafted him.

The problem with Greenway is the cap hit, Id rather give a guy like Christian Fischer a shot.

As far as the LD spot, my first idea is going after a veteran like Maatta. Getting a young kid would be nice but Maatta is young enough with a lot of experience.

@vzmercogliano
Did Gerard Gallant like what he saw from the new lines? "I’d like to say yes, but honestly, I wasn’t overly happy most of the night."

Added: "You win 6-2, and you question your lines again. We’ll see what happens tomorrow."

More changes coming? #NYR

Well, they only had 30 shot attempts the first two periods, 13 on net, and were outshot 22-13 through 40 minutes. That's the likely driver.

At the same time you have to take things like this with a 'grain of salt' being that youve got ANOTHER new set of lines.

I am not saying they should change...just providing rationale that Gallant will give if he makes a swap
