Cool now do goals.

Those secondary assists really add up!

You wont' convince me JT isn't better than Barzal today and I think you are the minority in thinking that way. Enjoy your kids practice and 1st aid training, as a Leaf fan it's very important to know what to do when you see someone choking!

Sad but true.

Go Leafs Go.

I was talking to friends earlier about Matthews winning a cup in Toronto. God-Thews has a nice ring to it.

Not a chance. He would never pull a gun on Mitch, and how could he hold a gun in his hand and drive with a hand in his pants

It's frightening to think you were ever given a position of authority - even on Hockeybuzz.

Franking goalies.

Sheesh.

Why? I think that Huberdeau's 10.5 is on the high end likely because he was more of a UFA signing then a re-sign and Calgary needed to sign him.

Gaudreau 9.75 .....Barkov 10M ......many more comparable in between 9 and 10.

You say "no way" they sign both Willie and Matty ....I'd bet my house they do unless they trip hard this year and Dubas is fired.

- The Law

I just don't see how they sign both to the big contract increases with where the cap is projected. And the decision to sign Willy long term will likely come down to the success or lack thereof this coming spring, rightly or wrongly.

Trading Nylander would be something that would likely need to be done at the draft, and waiting another year doesn't help that considering he'll be a UFA just like Matthews. And a modified NTC kicks in his last year.

I can see him asking for close to 11 million, and Matthews north of 13 million. Tavares' contract and the likely savings there extends beyond both those decisions and doesn't leave much money left for the likes of Bunting and any of the other "support" players. There are raises due to a number of players including Samsonov if he continues to play this way.

Sure, there will or should be Muzzin's, Kerfoot's and even Holl's money available, but I can't see how it all fits.

The flat cap has muddied the waters and handcuffed Dubas and other GMs for the last couple of years, but the real crunch is coming in the next 2 years.

I sure hope I'm wrong and this core group gets a few more kicks at the can, but I can see this window closing quicker than hoped.
