I love the draft.

It's a fun time. Especially when you're in rebuild mode and it's basically what will determine if your team will be successful in the next few years.

I like it too, but just when it happens, and when you get to see players in action... other than that, it's pretty meh for me lol.

I would not be surprised if Eddy is traded for busty, maybe other pieces will come along like VD

This. The draft is in june but some fans started tallking about it in september....

And they don't care about what's going on the ice, they are just looking at the standings and the calculator. As soon at they have their new toy, they won't care about him It will be all about the next new toy and the next draft. On and on it goes.

I think it was 2012.

I'm not sure we ended up with ONE decent NHLer in that lot.

they have great prospects coming up, it will take a few years to have them NHL ready, adding a few more this year will go a long way in making this team a potential contender for many years.

I don't get too excited until after the draft lottery - then you know where your team is slotted and you can then have interesting discussions.

Right now it is basically... so Bedard, right?

Well if you're only interested in the draft, you're more into fantasy hockey than the actual game.

I follow both very closely as they are both fun/important in my book.

That's another valid point, we have no idea where those picks will be. The lottery in itself can change everything.

With the TDL nearing, would make more sense talking about potetials trades.

I see your point, I just prefer to see the potential this team has with a few more key pieces. Deep teams take a few years to build, it's not easy on the fans, losing sucks but it's part of the process of drafting early and grabbing great players (better odds). The good thing about the Habs is they are not starting from scratch like some team (Chicago), they have great pieces already, more on the way and this coming draft would give them the chance to grab key assets for future success.

I would rather get some young players already drafted like they did with Dach.

I have a hockey pool and played a lot in fantasy hockey a few years back. Took too much of my time.

I know this is a rebuild and I know it will take time. But if I'm watching a hockey game, it's not about fantasy hockey. If I didn't want to be entertain, I would not tune in.

I think Busty fits the bill for the that if the Habs development team think there is something they can do with him.
