I do not think it’s the end of the world it just seems like a case of sunk cost fallacy by management. Especially now that he’s being healthy scratched. Seems silly to keep him around unless they’re working on throwing him into a deal to get rid of the contract. We got rid of reaves for the same reason…

If I’m a lesser team that can benefit from retaining I do it, same with Chicago. In Vancouvers case they have a better roster than chicago so yea it’s less likely. - Slimtj100
Its a completely different situation to retain 50% for the remainder of the current season versus retaining this year plus the following 2 years. |

can you imagine they only gave him 20 games before they pulled the plug, and then he caught on somewhere else and got his game going?
I think they needed to give him the chance they gave him and the plug pull is coming soon - jimbro83

They’ve probably been waiting for him to pop. It hasn’t happen. He does provide a need we have but he just isn’t doing it. Scoring isn’t it either. I never for a second thought that trade was about him being a scorer/pt producer. He was brought in to be heavy component and teams need that in the playoffs. So if he goes we would still need that unfortunately |

pretty sure I just explained my opinion that they needed to give him a fair shot this year, it's insane not to think that

Ok then no problem then. Continue to carry his 1.5 million dollar cap hit. |

see Ive seen Tom complain about the Buchnevich trade 20 times a day plus, mostly on twitter, since the trade happened and I know he can't have a reasonable conversation about this
who cares if Blais was put 10 minutes of total powerplay time earlier this season? holy crap

Sure, likely. They did seem pretty pumped to put him on Mika’s wing to start the season but whatever, that’s not important really.
I didn’t like the trade at the time like many other people (wanted more for buch, understanding he was a cap casualty)
He’s sucked all year, which is somewhat understandable given the circumstances.
It should be reasonably obvious now that he has no place in the lineup and is making too much to be a spot player.
That should clear it up hopefully |

You can follow and block people on twitter at your free will.
In this forum I rarely mention it. Brough it up Friday. It was brought Saturday, not by me.

Drury really messed up on the Buch trade. Put way to much value in Blais, even if he remained healthy. |

I said all along to just give him a chance and be fair to the guy. But I think it’s time to move on now after half the season. I try my best to be fair to guys and not judge solely on a pie chart🤷🏻♂️
