He's on loan. No one has really said anything but Marlies had a big road trip so maybe it was a bit of depth (loan probably gives him a NHL paycheck). Also, my guess is Dubas is looking at all his minor leaguers before the deadline to see what holes are internally filled OR for trade bait. Holmberg is just the guy who can be loaned/sent down without waivers or fuss.
