Think you really need some luck to draft and build a championship team, a guy like Point or just luck with the right draft. You can’t just draft. I do think players like Tk, that level below star level take till their 25ish to really play their best hockey, the elite play it almost from jump and just keep pushing

Definitely need some good luck. Sakic wanted to draft Heiskanen and was disappointed that he was gone and took Makar. TB obviously didn't know what they were getting in drafting Point and Kucherov.

Funny you bring this up. Yzerman has received a lot of deserved credit for what he’s done in Tampa and I agree that he wasn’t aware of what he had in point and Kucherov. A lot of late picks in Tampa were hit, hit, hit in Tampa. So why not all the same hits outside of the first round in Detroit? People are currently concerned with the Yzerplan.

Seider and Raymond are pretty high end.
