I don’t envy him. The Canucks are so dysfunctional.

The Canucks are worse than the Flyers. They handled this coaching situation about as bad as it possibly could have been handled. It's an absolute embarrassment to treat a veteran coach the way they treated him. It'll look good on them though when Tocchet implodes yet again. He sucks as a coach! Another cement head trying to be a head coach. What a joke.

So on a night that the Flyers win you call them a dumpster fire. Why don't you find someone else to root for? And the Eagles are beating up on a fraud playoff team that beat a fraud team last week. No more gifts for the Eagles after tonight cause the rest of the teams left in the playoffs are legit playoff teams. Thanks!

Because the Sharks are bad too and Joe Pavelski doesn’t play for them anymore.

Such a train wreck this whole coach situation has been. So poorly mismanaged. Hope Boudreau heads to the Royal Rumble once he's let go. (Guy is a huge WWE fan)

They really mishandled this badly. Teams try to find another coach before they fire a coach but I’ve never heard anyone announce in publicly beforehand.

So I was at the game. I asked for a ticket where the visitor shot twice. Of course the guy didn’t know the difference, so I saw the wings shoot twice. It turned out to be a good thing. Aside from a few passes going off tickets and skates early, we was nice watching the team work hard and defend. That save by Hart on Lucas Raymond at the end was nuts. I thought it was in.

I’m sorry, DeAngelo is awful in his own end. It was only a matter of time until he ruined Hart’s shutout.

Why is DeAngelo out there with 1 min to go in a game defending? Many more possibilities for sure. He would be the last guy I would have out there from the 6 guys dressed.

DeAngelo is as bad as Ghost was if not worse. He is an accident waiting to happen every single time he steps on the ice. It's become rather obvious that he was a product of his defense partner in Carolina last year. He wanders all over the ice and is constantly out of position, and he is an absolute disaster waiting to happen in his own end. Another disgrace of a signing by Chuckles.

I had the Birds on but flipped to Flyers here and there. Cracks me up that Flyers "fans" keep coming on here and bashing the team. There are plenty of other teams to root for and one of those teams will land Bedard. That neanderthal Nic D should be banished from the league as he is a thug criminal that should not be allowed to put on skates!

Yes, TDA was a bad signing but Chuckles and co for some reason think that we can compete and make the playoffs. Comcast would be thrilled with one round even if we lose. I like TDA despite his flaws. I'd take him over Ghost any day as at least TDA wants to win.

I hope he gets traded this deadline or off season. Fletcher may not want to rebuild but he can certainly find a reasonable guy in free agency, the minors and recoup some of the pics spent getting TDA. Keep those draft picks flowing.

When the flyers lose they are a dumpster fire. When they win 9 out of 12 they are a dumpster fire according to some. Hmmm. I suppose in every 12 game span they must win at least 10 out of 12 to avoid being a dumpster fire?

Or is it 11 out of 12 or do they have to win every single game to avoid being a dumpster fire?

Just trying to understand what highly sophisticated algorithms you are using to determine success for this team.

It just more classic Flyers tail chasing.

Trade for an oldish guy Niskanen and he bails. Then trade for another oldish guy in Ellis and he immediately gets hurt. Then it suddenly seems necessary to trade three draft picks for the signing rights of a guy who many teams wouldn't have touched with a 10-foot pole.

I think TDA is technically fine for the most part. He's far from perfect but everybody knew that going in. The problem is really that Provorov was NEVER gonna be the right partner for him because they both struggle defensively. Putting them together just compounds their issues.

Guys like TDA and Ghost can be valuable as long as you've got a real defensive killer to pair them with, like a Tanev, Pelech or Slavin. There's nobody on the Flyers blueline that fits that bill, not even close.

Should have just stood pat, left TDA alone, and drafted Jiricek for the future.

I tend to always look for the positive but TDA, I went for liking or understanding his game to just amazed, he has actually regressed. He ends up being last one back a couple times a game, then last night, no effort to box out, or take the stick. You know Torts sees this. I like TDAS skill set, he can play the position, he has to want to to. Fox him Torts.

All that said, they gave up one goal, really good game by Hart.

I like Errson, but I also like it being Harts next right now, he is only 24, he seems to be progressing. Let both of them play big minutes, hope Sandstrom can be solid and at least we have one position of strength.

Kind of think last night is exactly who the Flyers are right now, a team who can play with the wings, who are rebuilding. It does give some credit to the drafting and development, also shines a light on no high end talent. Wings are a little behind where I thought they be and with a healthy Coots, the Flyers are probably a step ahead. Face offs equal puck possession, Flyers really need to address it, they are bad.

Wings will probably make some moves, I think if there are enough teams likes the wings and Flyers, you could see the Flyers re-shuffle, o boy, look out

The difference, of course, is that the Wings realize they needed to rebuild and are currently patiently doing that.

The Flyers have been burning assets trying to make the POs the past three seasons, lol.

Are you implying that Gostisbehere doesn't want to win? This is another invented thought similar to Deslauriers belongs on the team because he's great in the room.

Patiently doing that? They kind of signaled they were a playoff team this off season. For all the credit Yzerman gets, Copp and Chiarot signings were really bad

And now the Canadiens have announced that Cole Caufield will miss the rest of the season after suffering a right shoulder injury which will require surgery. Obviously feel bad for the kid, but its nice to know teams other than the Flyers have these issues. Still this will be a win for the Canadiens as their draft odds just got a whole lot better.

Asset management is not their friend, rational fear that they will do something and CF will screw it up, but it that is the path, you hope as a fan he actually does something right

On the Wings, are they on their way? Do they have the high end talent from rebuilding? I don’t know the team well enough to know

Not really. They have a few good young players but when you look at their roster. They don't have that elite player and they're not a young team.
