Excellent point, I'm tired of the broken record of "Dubas is going to get fired because he hasn't brought in the grit needed to be as good as the Leafs were in the good old days"

It's pretty easy to arm chair GM and if the Leafs don't win jump and proudly proclaim "Told you so". It's fun to be right, I guess for some more fun than enjoying a top 3 team in the entire NHL having yet another killer season.

If we want to talk about the 'good old days" does anyone care to guess how many years it took Stevie Y to win his first cup? It was 10 years after he became the captain at the age of 32, because Detroit built a team that was a winner and did that the right way, slow and steady.

Patience is just not something so many Leaf fans seem to have.

Hell the Leafs best player isn't even the captain and is in year 7 and 25 years old but I digress.

I think they should extend Dubas now

I think Dubas is a very good GM.

I also think he'll only get extended if the Leafs get over that first round.

It's probably not fair, but it's most likely what awaits him.

Not sold at all on Domi. Like the RoR suggestion. Maybe crouse in AZ? Wilson would have Marchand 💩 bricks in a Leafs/Bruins matchup but he has to be reigned in and kept under control or just another Kadri suspended useless player.

Tough break on Robertson and Hollowell there. We have not had the best of years with injuries.

Maybe its Dubas who is waiting, see how things play out. And maybe bolt like AA did with the Jays if he doesnt like how things are going.

then go on and win a championship somewhere else

Interesting tidbit is that apparently Spezza is at his side a lot during practices and around the rink. They spend a lot of time together talking

Shoulder surgery

Injury updates:

"Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson had season-ending shoulder surgery and will be out for six months.

Toronto Marlies defenceman Mac Hollowell underwent surgery for a fractured kneecap and will be out a minimum of 12 weeks."

- Fakepartofme

Oh man… that kid needs to adjust his game, his body can’t handle his style at the NHL level. And that’s too bad about Mac, gone til mid April.. man.. he’ll be lucky to land a game or two before season’s end. Just looked it up and the last Marlies game is April 16th.

I disagree. I think at this point the playoff success should determine the length. Guy took a risk and made moves in the off season, mostly around goaltending and he proved it was the right move. How is it not rewarded?

EDIT: I guess I should say if they fail at the end of the 1st round again I'd be okay with him getting a short term deal. Like 2 years.
