I remember reading somewhere that he was on several teams’ Do Not Draft list. Apparently didn’t take directions well….Lone Ranger on the ice….haven’t seen him play in a while though.

Knox, Diggs and Singletary are all open on that play to extend the drive.

I love the aggressive nature of Allen but the old adage of “Take what the defense give you” comes into play.

They should fire the entire coaching staff and allen too.

Maybe sit Josh down and say hay we haven't gotten here without you. Don't want to take away your aggressiveness. We just want to add a few things to it. And show him Brady dinking and dunking his way to SuperBowls. It's alright to take the short out occasionally, it can still help us win. Now go kick Cincinnati's A$$.

I was about to bring this very point up.

There is something to be said for a coach only being able to take a certain team so far. I do fear in the back of my mind that this is the case with McDermott, but for better or worse, the Bills aren't going to make that decision for another few years at least.

- buffalofan19

I always find the “he can’t get over the hump” narratives about coaches/players so silly.

Barry Trotz
Alex Ovechkin
Andy Reid
John Elway
And countless others

McDermott is flawed. But he’s won a ton of games and won huge games. If they keep most of this roster together and get some O-Line WR help they’ll eventually get there

Imagine Allen in Philly or San Fran?

But all of the coaches in that list eventually "got over the hump" somewhere other than their original team. Sometimes it takes getting fired or a change of scenery to to be able to re-evaluate things. It's ironic, but Sean McDermott has said multiple times that Andy Reid told him that firing him was going to be the best thing that's ever happened to him for his career. It seems he was right.

I'm not calling for him to be fired. However, I don't dismiss the notion of him not being able to win one here. The closest parallel I can make locally is UB basketball. It's not exactly as high of stakes, but Reggie Witherspoon turned that program around from being in utter shambles to the point he become a legend for that program in the 15+ years he was there. However, he never was able to win a MAC title or get to the NCAA tournament in that span. He got to the MAC championship game a few times, but always lost, including blowing a 19-point second half lead to Ohio in 2005 (I was at that game). They eventually fired him in 2013 (I believe), and the combination of Bobby Hurley and Nate Oates got them NCAA tournament bids in 4 of the next 6 seasons. Sometimes coaches need to move on in order to get over that hump.

Hoping the Sabres haven't forgotten Tkachuks antics last time we played them way back in October. Two teams tied in the standings. Should be a chippy one this afternoon. Hope Fitz doesn't score his first NHL goal against us today.

Sometimes sure. A lot of times it’s just a combo of luck/matchups etc.

I put a lot of responsibility on McDermott for :13

I’m putting a little more responsibility of this years flaws on Beane

They spent two years obsessing over the D line and secondary and ignored WR and O-line

All of that is relevant. Again, I'm not calling for him to be fired if they don't win it all this year, but I'm also not dismissing the notion that there's something missing with him too that could ultimately cost the Bills a championship. Like you said, he has his flaws, and to me, in-game management is his biggest by a mile. That's problematic.

Beaner is a top 3 GM in the league. All gm’s have misses and flaws. But the dude is the man.

But…….. if i have to bring up something up to that makes be just second guess his decision making this year is releasing hodgins.

I mean what else could he of done out of camp to make the team. Was the best WR in all of our pre-season games. Made 3-4 just amazing catches. Tallest received with the best highpoint catching abilities. Then in season we have all these WR injuries and we release him??

Knowing Josh sometimes has accuracy issues isnt that the guy you want?? That can go up and get a 50/50 ball. Just seemed like such a obvious choice and I think we blew it. Choose specials team vs. talent.

Rant over . Beaner is still the man. Mcdermsuck is kinda ok

Flaws 13 -3 ?

Lost 3 games by 8 points total.

We may never have had (past) or (future) team as good as this team. We're stacked full of talent.

Allen's contract kicks in next season , that's gonna hurt the roster

Try and enjoy what we have going on right now.

Yes. We have flaws. We aren’t a perfect team. No one is.

Josh Allen masks our offensive flaws for the most part.

Is the roster not assembled correctly though?

Von out hurts the defense
Drops hurt the offense.
Aren't we a top 5 scoring team
Also a top scoring defense?

Prefect 10's have flaws

He's a fantastic GM, especially with contracts. He built a really good roster. Not many teams would have survived the injuries the Bills have had. He spent money on Defense and not so much at OL and slot WR. Have to give here and there sometimes.
